Went up to Belgard today to get prices on the MVI golf and trade in my 07 golf. I was met with a negative look, a pause and then he said “you will be waiting 4/5 months for one of those”. Great first impression! So I got him to give me a price anyway- he offered me €11,000 for my car. Whilst he was out looking at my car, I heard a salesman’s pitch to a lady that a particular car would be good to go for because it was red, and red is the safest colour! Ha
So I went outside to my car and low and behold, it had been washed! Perhaps somebody washed the wrong car, either way, was a bonus for me!
So I then went to Sinnotts in Wicklow. They offered me €16,000 for my car. I just thought €5000 was a huge price differential between 2 VW dealers. I read a post in this thread about someone having a similar experience. Has anyone else experienced such disparity amongst dealerships of the same brand?
I know a guy that was offered 4k off a vw dealership for his 07 golf. I'd abuse the **** before i storm out if they offered me that kind of silly price. do they feel good giving someone that kind of price? do they expect us to say ok great deal?! tis a joke.
