I think she'll win, because I reckon its all a total fix anyway...

I read an interview Piers Morgan did on Simon Cowell from maybe a week ago and when asked who he thought would win, he said "Diana Vickers". No hesitation, no "well maybe this person or that person". At the end of the day he is the one who has to manage the winning act & he must see more money in Diana. It's such a joke, she's sh1te compared to Ruth & Alex

Alex performances are flawless, it will be a travesty if anyone other than her wins. However people don't seem to vote in such high numbers for her so there's a risk.

Simon really played it well for Eoghan tonight with the High School Musical song..

Both Diana's songs were terrible and off-key. She tries to be "different" but has the same routine every week. I agree that it's not a dance competition but she should make some effort with her performance and her hair!!!

JLS are okay but I cannot imagine them winning.

I think the HSM song saved Eoghan tonight but then again I thought he had been brilliant all the way through
Diana has not done an up tempo song as her voice couldnt handle it
She would have to try dance and put on her 3 year old voice at the same time:)
She reminds me of the little girl that was on Britains Got Talent

Then again Im probably insulting the little girl!!

In the Xtra Factor seemed to be a lot of coldness towards Diana from the other contestants, don't think anyone likes her.

    I think Eoghan does;););)

    Diana is crashing and burning...

She seems to have been on a downward spiral the for a while and for I think the first time ever I agree with Louis in the area of her not being versatile.

Her singing is a crime against humanity, the hands...oh lord the hands and put your fecking shoes on love.

Alexandra has won me over, shes still a little bit too hyper but gawd damn can she move as well as sing.

Knew Ruth wouldn't last, seeing as she's not British. Not feeling a Diana-loving vibe at all from the other contestants, Brian, the judges (apart from Cheryl). The public like her though and I'd say Simon would prefer her to win than Diana. Clearly Alexandra's miles more talented but she's too Leona-esque.

Britney... lol. Didn't liaise with the contestants pre-performance the way the other guests did - even Mariah Carey; forced a few generic lines out when Dermot interviewed her - "I've met some amazing people backstage" (i.e. stayed in her heavily guarded dressing room), to the contestants: "good luck and... keep doing it". Wow Brit, such pearls of wisdom...
She's promoting an album in Britain, X Factor probably has the highest ratings at the moment - a worthwhile publicity opportunity. Thought her dancing and overall vivaciousness was pretty good, she seems a lot better than she was not so long ago. Can't understand why she mimed though.
And James Corden is class - his weight is his own business.

    Source News of the World
But our insider said: “Diana is always running around the house calling out ‘Eoghan, Eoghan’ and he comes to her like a puppy dog.

“He is obviously crazy about her. He is always at her side and will do anything she asks.”

She has also been getting up other contestants’ noses by acting like a “diva”.

They are resentful that she appears to be getting preferential treatment by the judges. A few weeks ago she was excused from performing when she had laryngitis—although Alexandra Burke had to sing when she was ill.

And Diana was allowed to change her song the day before a recent live show to Coldplay’s Yellow.

Our source said: “Diana may come across as sugary sweet on telly but in real life she is quickly becoming a diva with a super-sized ego.

“She thinks she’s the ‘chosen one’ because of all the compliments she gets from the judges and the celebrity coaches who’ve been in.

“The other contestants are getting upset about how the bosses are openly showing favouritism towards her.

    Diva Diana

    http://www.newsoftheworld.co.uk/showbiz/xfactor/88014/X-Factor-reject-Rachel-Hylton-rages-at-Simon-Cowell.html

X FACTOR reject Rachel Hylton has launched an astonishing attack on her mentor Dannii Minogue— BLAMING the judge for her eviction from the show. Bitter Rachel, 27, claimed she wouldn’t have lost if Dannii hadn’t chosen “rubbish” songs for her. And she lashed out at TV bosses for “setting her up,” “exploiting her” and “forcing” her to be someone she’s not—just to please white middle-class viewers.

Rachel, an ex-junkie who was on benefits, fumed: “When you are there . . . they try to change you into someone you’re not. I called it exploiting you basically. ”
She told the News of the World: “When I first started X Factor I was very positive, I was full of life. I was very vivacious and bubbly.

“But by week four I had started to withdraw inside myself. I started isolating myself. You don’t know who you can trust on the X Factor.”

It was during the fourth week that mum-of-five Rachel had her biggest fight with her mentor Dannii.

The pair clashed since week one, when Dannii told her to sing Robyn’s Every Heartbeat—which was panned as “cheap” and “rubbish” by Simon Cowell. Rachel, from north-west London, said: “I asked the musical director if I could change it but was told ‘Dannii’s your mentor, she’s chosen that song and you have to sing it.’

“Behind the scenes Dannii was annoyed. She is not aggressive but you could tell. At her worst she won’t talk to you. She just won’t speak.”

Two weeks later Rachel was told by a show stylist she couldn’t wear a sleeveless green gown because her arms were “too fat”. She said: “I got really upset. I know I’m not the slimmest girl in the competition but I wanted to feel like a woman.

“I felt I was being dressed like a 40-year-old. I would look at the other contestants and think, ‘She looks nice but I look like a frump.’ It was like they were intentionally taking the p*ss out of me.

“I had to cry before they let me wear that dress. In the end they put panels on to cover the top of my arms.”

Worse was to follow the next week when she and her mentor had their infamous barney.

Dannii picked Mariah Carey’s hit Butterfly for her to sing, but Rachel went behind her back and performed Against All Odds instead.Rachel said: “That Sunday I was on the phone and Dannii couldn’t find me. She was like, ‘If you need to go somewhere, can you let people know where you are going?’ She sounded irritated and that put my back up.

“She then said ‘Rachel, can you make sure you’ve got this melody right.’ That set me off because I had sat up the whole night working on Butterfly. I burst into tears and that’s when the cameras caught me.”

Rachel was filmed ranting, saying things like: “Dannii don’t know how to pick songs for me.”

The upset contestant then phoned an X Factor “bigwig”—widely assumed to be Cowell—and was given the go-ahead to pick her own song.

She said: “I didn’t tell Dannii but she found out and asked why I did it. I said, ‘Because I didn’t want to sing Butterfly no more.’

“We didn’t speak to each other a lot that week at all.” Rachel’s rant was broadcast on ITV1 that Saturday just before she went on stage.

She said: “All I could do was just hold my head down. That was a private moment for me and I’m really upset it was shown. It just felt like a blatant set up to take me off my game.”

“I had to tone down my personality a lot on the show because I didn’t want to constantly be put in that category of being a diva—the bad girl.”

Afterwards she and Dannii made up but Rachel then faced a public backlash two weeks later—when she made the gun gesture on stage to Daniel Evans after he was axed.

Around 50 viewers complained to ITV. Rachel spluttered: “I want to let people know it is a black thing. A lot of black African people and West Indian people do that.

“It’s like when white people do devil’s horns and go ‘rock out’, it’s the same thing when we go ‘bang, bang, bang’. I’m sorry it’s a gun sign but that’s how we express ourselves.

“How could I be threatening while Daniel jokingly returned it? No disrespect but I do sometimes feel it can be racism.

“Allow a black person to be a black person. We don’t tell you ‘why do you speak like this, why do you think you are above us?’”

She went on: “I was concerned about the middle-class white people getting the wrong impression of me. I was told that would be the background of the people voting—and they misunderstand black people a lot. I’m from the hood and what certain people class as common as muck.”

Last week Dannii had an on-stage breakdown after Louis accused her of “stealing” a Take That song from him for Rachel to sing.

Rachel said: “I heard that backstage Louis was saying some really vile stuff to her. He is a total old buzzard—he’s a diva and nobody notices. He’s fake—he’ll say hi to your face and be friendly but then he’ll turn around and do what he does.”

After being kicked out, Rachel went to McDonald’s with her family —WITHOUT saying bye to Dannii.

She says if she’d had Cheryl Cole as her mentor she could have reached the final. “Dannii is more of a dance singer,” she explained. “Simon is more across the board and Cheryl is really clued up with soul music. I would never work with Louis.”

But Rachel added: “X Factor has given me the platform to do what I want with my life.

“I left with a smile on my face and my head held high.”

Rachel should be grateful Danni picked her for her top three for the live show - ungrateful cow

I think I speak for everybody when I say wtf is wrong with the british public? I'm actually not bothered watching it anymore now because everybody that's left is **** except for alex. she's just obviously the best and HAS to win. diana was so bad! She absolutely butchered both songs and picking hallelujah for the final song is definitely setting it up for diana. she isn't a good singer but she'd be able to sing that song. why would they pick that song anyway? it'll just be embarrassing for whoever has to release it

Ugh, Im sick of people saying Alexandra shouldnt win cos she's like Leona

They have a similar vocal rangem but Leona sticks to her high stuff a la Mariah, where as Alexandra is great in the lower keys, but both are still good VV

And it all depends on writers, production etc

I still think she'll do well anyways

I can see Ruth havin a better Career than the likes of Eoghan or Diana winning

Look at Leon, his first single was beaten in the charts by the fake XFactor song :P

And his album, only out a few weeks, is already in bargain baskets everywhere

    He'll quickly disappear

I'm not saying Alexandra shouldn't win, but I believe she won't because of the Leona thing. Ok, Leona's more ballady, Alexandra's more funky soul diva... still too close though. Big-voiced is big-voiced. And they've a similar look. Simon won't want them in competition with each other - possibly even in the States. Diana's unlikely to break the States and she's so different to Leona in every sense. No doubt Simon knows she's ghastly but the public love her so she'll possibly do well.
The favouritism is so bloody transparent.

I agree Rachel was given a lot of the wrong songs to sing... but I suppose that goes to show she's quite limited.

there isn't much option left really - alexandra, jls eoghan or diana as the winner? put it this way i would buy a record released by alexandra before jls eoghan or diana

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,604 ✭✭✭xOxSinéadxOx

I would only buy a record released by Alex, the others are just ****. JLS could be a good boy band if they had the right songs and stuff but alex is just so much better than all the others

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 436 ✭✭Meller

i think jls or diana _should_ win; it makes the most sense. sure, alexandra's great but she really isn't anything different. no matter what you say, there are hundreds very similiar to her around. even if you don't think diana will last, i'd be more interested in seeing what happens with her and following her up than i would be with alexandra, who will be predictable and fade out in favour of others like her after awhile anyway. jls would do okay, there aren't too many poppy boybands going around at the moment.

eoghan... well, do we really need more highschool musical than we already have? honestly.

I missed the performances last night but saw the elimination. What irritates me about Diana is that she's not the least bit gracious. When she was told she was safe she immediately started wooping and grinning, which was a pretty rude thing to do when she was the last person to be told she was 'safe' that week. I'm not saying she shouldn't be happy and relieved, but at least the other contestants are capable of showing a bit of maturity and subtlety about things.

I dunno. Just struck me as a bit disrespectful to act like that.

True, and Eoghan is the same. Both of them are relatively young so immaturity is to be expected though. Ruth was a class act in the way she accepted defeat.

her voice sounds different? it's too obvious to explain... it just sounds different to other female singers on the radio right now, clearly?

her 'image' and all that does count for something, too. i'm not saying messy hair and barefeet are copyrighted to her and oh-so original and incredible, but things such as that do lend her more of a sense of originality than some of the others and regardless of what people say/want, it _does_ make her a little different.

+1 and on the Xtra Factor everyone seems to be ignoring her (dont blame them though ;)), so whats the story there does everyone in the house hate her ?
