The above little incident just landed me with two solicitors letters through the door.:D
Let's see,I paid for 2 passes,a few days(3) late mind you. First notice came through the door,ignored it cause I've paid already and all this before Nov 30th. Couple of weeks later the €43 one lands in the hall,at this stage I'm getting on the phone to sort this out. Ring them,get through quick enough,tell bloke on phone the story,and he stops me from finishing what I had to say and just tells me he's cancelling it there and then,journey made before 30th blah blah blah......CANCEL WHAT
There shouldn't BE anything to cancel. I wanted to give him my payment ref number but he didn't want it,no need he said,everything is sorted now and he hung up.
I can't wait to ring the solicitors on Monday morning. Have my check list made...
Saved eFlow payment screen with date and amount paid. √
Bank statement with €6 payment made to eFlow dated same as web page.√
Original statement from eFlow stating they'll drop late payment fines till Nov30th. √
I'll let them prove I never rang eFlow and was never told that everything was cancelled and sorted and no need to worry about the notice I received.
The best part of this letter,
"We would urge you to take the contents of this Toll Violation Notice extremely seriously".
First time in years I'm actually looking forward to Monday morning.:D:D0 -

Taxman, in a similar situation as yourself... forgot to pay before 8pm. Remembered next day, went online chose pay a toll option, entered reg number and was charged just €3. All other times had paid on time and had still recieved letters saying I hadn't so wasn't at all surprised when got letter saying I hadn't paid €3 toll and needed to pay €6. Assumed, stupidly perhaps but I DO have a life and a job so can't spend my days worrying whether eflows system is correct or not, that because the system had taken my reg and payment that i could ignore the letter, surely this system should accurately tell me through receiving my reg number what I owe.... received a threatening solicitors letter last week stating that I owed €143 and if I didn't pay a judgement would be made against me and my name published in Stubbs Gazette. I paid the toll in good faith and would have happily paid the late fee had it charged me for it... I'm actually quite upset about it
as I really cannot afford €143 and don't believe the payment system is clear and in light of the fact that on previous occasions they have treated me so incompetently how can they send these intimidating solicitors letters?????
And to add to the annoyance of it all I contacted eflow concerned that I might have other outstanding payments resulting in more solicitors letters and was told that my account was compeltely clear????!!!!!0 -

Taxman and Bond007 thanks for the replies. As Taxman says no signature on the bottom of letter just the 2 surnames of the firm. Postage is paid so no indication of location of posting. Date of passage was mid Nov.
Taxman would be interested in how you get on with them?
This couldn't stand up in court though could it?? 0 -

I used to work in debt collection for a well known firm in Dublin. What eflow have done is they have paid these solicitors a fee to use their letterhead and churn out automated letters. The solicitors supply the wording and eflow print off the letters back at eflow central aong with the other notices. The solicitors letter is just another printer in the eflow office.
The named solicitors have never had your details. The phone number on the letter will be a number belonging to eflow. It is a basic scare tactic. Thing is it works in 90% of cases.0 -
