No just myself, I turned into the first car park that I found where the grey partridge feeders are.

Ah grand. There were two lads around where I was who headed off after the Harriers reappeared, thought you might have been one of them.

Nothing amazing but here is a bird on our feeder, a rabbit on the grounds of the gym and a spider that lives under the lid of our green bin and has done for a few months now.

Lot of damage done to that buzzards tail
Looks like he is in moult which is late as one of its tail feathers is on the right is perfect and thicker so id say its a you g bird an its other tail featers look damage more from diving into thickets and bushes

I saw this on my cycle to-day, can anyone tell me what it is? Is it a heron, not a great pic I know but I couldn't get any closer without it flying off.

Its a Grey Heron alright! Probably on the lookout for fish or frogs!

Thanks Openyoureyes, I also took a couple of photos of two hawks but it's too indistinct to make out what type they are.

Might be worth posting them? If theres any kind of clue as to their size, shape or colouring, we might be able to figure it out?

As I say, it was from a distance, they had a wide wingspan, maybe 5 feet across, with five or six feathered 'fingers' at the end of each wing, and definitely a hawks screeching, is it usual for them to have a mate at this time of year?

Sound like it was probably a Buzzard. They're breeding season would be over now, but it wouldnt be uncommon for them to be hanging around in groups of 2 or more!

Were they doing circles in the air? Buzzards are increasingly common in Ireland, especially in the East and South!

Yes, lazy long circles, looked like they were looking for food but I'm no expert, I'd be delighted if they were buzzards as I've never seen them in Ireland, I'll see if I can get better pics next time,if they're about.

Here's a video of some Buzzards I took before. You can hear them calling at 6 seconds and 20 seconds with a lot of loud wind in between.

That's the sound I heard to-day alright, quite a distinct sound, I heard them before I saw them.

Is that on the royal canal east of Leixlip by any chance? I've seen buzzards up there before
