Yep. If you see something funny, take a quick snap and hit send.

Great way to convince people to come down to the pub too. Take a photo of a pint, insert the text "Pub?" and hit send. Much more persuasive than any phonecall/text.

The only thing that trumps it is the new video calling on the 3G trial, but even that can be annoying as your phone goes onto loudspeaker.

Hmmm. Just realised that the new offer doesn't include free MMS. That's something I quite like. Mightn't change after all.

Its a long time since meteor offered free texts and free mms messages. That was one of their original parckages from a good few years back.

All packages since only offered free texts, and as pvt.joker asks
do people actually use picture messages?

I'd say if I sent one a month it would be a lot.

What is even more annoying is having free video calling on a phone that only has a front facing camera :o

easily solved my friend. you merely point the phone in the mirror and you can do video calls ;)

is it just me or has the meteor website been acting a lot slower when sending texts through it over the past few days, takes ages when selecting a recepient

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 5,297 ✭✭✭Ron DMC

That's exactly what I've had to put up with too. And afaik video calls aren't free. Think they're 20/30c a minute or something. Haven't figured out the exact cost yet but still fairly cheap.

I need to get a phone with 2 cameras.

    People send MMS'? Wow.

Anyway, not sure if I'll change or not. I only ring one persona lot anyway and have them for free, will see.

Well these are certainly attractive for those not on Meteor, the o2 deal was a little tempting but those 49c calls put me off. This is the same with 29c calls.

I'm on 3 where the calls are already more than that, and the texts are 5c. I couldn't give up the 3G though so I think I'll wait till that launches.

I went in today to change it.The fella behind the counter said wait 24 hours for it to go through then i got a text of them saying my request for tariff change was completed. I got 20 euro credit and I didn't get confirmation. I thought I would have been ok after getting the text.

Oh right nice one didn't know I had to do that.

I've been with metoer form the begining and my paln is Pre-Pay Anytime - Original.

It used to be just Pre - Pay Anytime.

It would be nice to get some new offers as I have been thinking of changing my plan.

I'm on the same plan as you, do you have a list of the prices we pay on this plan?

Had forgotten to sign up to this... I went for the Meteor to Meteor talk & text.
I see their texts to other networks have gone up when you do this though.
    Texts now 11c
    Calls now 29c p/m

Ah well, they're still miles ahead of the Competition.

well they increased call charges by 5c a inute to call ONE friend for free...

now theyv increased it by another 4c to call the ENTIRE network..

still think its a bit cheeky but revenue does need to be made

Is isn't as if they have changed every one over to the new tariff and not given them a choice. You only sign up to this price plan if you WANT to.

Yeah, how dare a business try to make a profit. It's a disgrace.

i think you may have taken my point a bit wrong....

i said they Do need to make a profit... was not sarcastically said:o

But you said it was cheeky, when surely they couldn't offer all these free calls without some increase in other costs.

Nah, you must have gotten your point across wrong. The cheeky comment was what I was referring to. A :) goes a long way!! :)

All these special offers really depend on how you use them. Spend 100e a month on Meteor calls and don't really deal with other networks? You'll save 80euro.

Do nothing but text? 20e a month gives you unlimited national texts.

Neither would suit me, as I make enough landline/O2 calls to justify Talk 300 with Meteor Calls/Texts. 300 mins at 50e is a lot better than 300 at 87e.

. I think its fact that the network isnt as good as o2/Vodafone. They dont have as good as coverage and a lot of my friends on Meteor complain about the same problem.

i thought meteor used o2s network anywhere that meteor didn't have coverage?
