I dont like the min conection fee of 3c everytime you get someones voicemail because they don't pick up on time 3c gone....I suppose its still better than o2's 5c

Pretty sure phone unlocking is completely legal. As much as apple hate the fact.
Delighted to see the new rates. With meteor since the start and was ashamedly thinking of moving to 02 last week when I seen their deal. So glad I didn't now as I was the friend back in the day that persuaded all his mates to get on the meteor bandwagon :D

Hmm. Have to admit I was expecting something better. Still considering moving back to them. I was with Meteor for 6 years and have never had any trouble with them. I changed to o2 simply because I send alot of texts and the free text offer has saved me a fortune. But if Meteor are offering the same now I'll probably change back.

You can just switch your number back over if you buy a sim card I assume?

I'm already on meteor to meteor free texts and I have already paid my €20 this month, so if i switch over to one of the new plans, will I have to top up by another €20 to get it started?

Exactly the reason why I'm holding off on my decision. That free 50 quid from the 3g trial is still keeping me going.

I'm sorted for a while too, €60 so far from the trial, €10 more to come next month, i upgraded at the start of the month so i got €20 credit there and to top it off i have free text to any network for three months because i rang up there a few months ago for my unlocking code and they offered me 3 free text bundles if i stayed with them!

    Aren't meteor just great!

did you see on the terms and conditions that you need a "positive credit balance"? Does that mean if you run out of credit that you dont get free texts or free calls and texts?

The Promotion is also subject to further fair use conditions, which Meteor may rely on to withdraw, restrict, limit or terminate the Promotion from an Eligible Customer. These fair use conditions are such that an Eligible Customer's usage of the Promotion shall not exceed5000 minutes of calls per month and/or 5000 texts per month and that Meteor to Meteor calls are free for a maximum duration of 60 minutes. Any usage above same, or outside of the terms of this Promotion, will be charged at standard rates (i.e. if a Meteor to Meteor call runs for 63 minutes, the first 60 minutes of the call will be free and the remaining 3 minutes will be charged at the Anytime Choice Tariff Plan rates).

The fair usage policy is 164 minutes on the phone per day, and the same number of texts. They are also cumalative. So, if they are enforcing the FUP, if you use, for example, 200 minutes one day, you can balance it out by using 163 minutes a day for the next 36 days. ;)

Ah dunno, may stay with old so.
Or maybe move to new, there is no way I could break those T&Cs on my iphone.
    :pac:

Im def not changing to any of the new deals too many T&C feel safer with my old free total unlimited meteor to meteor texts for life

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 499 ✭✭Pyro Boy

I have the very old plan of free txt and pic for like plus the free crd every month(top up by 30 and they give me 6euro). I´m not changing to this new plan meteor. Why do they not give new customers free pic msg..... does it cost them that much.?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,707 ✭✭✭skywalker

I gotta say Im another who's not blown away by the new offers, on the surface it looks great, but Im on the old free texts for life & doubt Ill move, free pic msgs, free credit every month, & much cheaper calls all add up to a better deal imo.

I suppose you have a point, afterall; it only took them about 5 years to reply to Meteor's free text for life offer...

Very true. But, Meteor were the only network with any type of decent offer. No network tried to match it besides o2. I hope this will increase the competition

Hmmm. Just realised that the new offer doesn't include free MMS. That's something I quite like. Mightn't change after all.
