Well done to everyone anyway, it only matters if you pass the IST, the main thing is the A/C as the IST is only taken into consideration if you are tied with someone else on the A/C. Still good to get a high score tho, to have that back up

    Roll on the A/C!

Well i just couldnt wait untill after the A/C and asked for my IST results too. Wish i hadnt, i got 56 and realy gutted. I now know that ive a load of work to do and must get a really good score in the AC to even stand a chance with my background :(My advice for future people.....dont ask for your IST result before your AC! :(

Good luck to every one doing theres soon! :)

For anyone else waiting on IST breakdown, I rang Deloitte today and they very kindly told me all results are being posted out at the minute, and to ring back if I still hadn't received anything by Thursday.

I double checked that you didn't have to have requested a breakdown, that everyone will get posted their score, and was told yes. So if you don't want to know how you got on at the IST get someone else to open any post from Deloitte over the next week!

Honestly, I wouldnt worry about it. It is mainly based on your A/C anyway, so if you get a really good score in there, regardless if you did fantastic or just scraped through the IST, then you will still have a great chance.

It is more important to do better in the A/C than it is in the IST so don't worry!!!

You're spot on Eddyman, hopefully this puts people at ease (including myself now I know results are definately on their way!)

Oh the wierd and wonderful machine that is Deloitte!

Back to waiting on the postman now but weirdly im not nervous, I know i was 53/54 last year so I wont expect to have passed by a big margin but im dead curious!

All the more motivation to do the absolute best you possibly can at the AC then eh? That's how I'm going to take it if mines close to the border! Although I really will be a bit gutted with myself if I find I've passed with the same or lower score than I got last year, which could possibly be the case, just wouldn't seem right ya no? But then again, motivation!!!

Well folks, got my letter today...

I failed last year but put a lot of prep in this year and got high 60's so am pleased...but as people have already said, it dont mean much. I would happly give up some of these marks for an extra few in the A/C when I do it as that matters more... and my A/C is still seems ages off :(

So dont be worrying if you aint aced the IST, the A/C is the main thing and most of you will still be able to do something about that! ;)

Got my letter too and i'm high 60's as well... plesantly suprised as i thought i had not done too well.

But its all about the A/c as you say..... now its just a waiting game for the marks of that!

Seriously? Quite annoying they keep telling people different things. Well I rang again today cos still no post either, and was told same thing - being posted out at the minute and should arrive tomorrow or Saturday.. Which probably means next week ha.

Letter came this morning (dated almost 2 weeks lol) got 57.... I'm kind of happy with it because it 3 marks more than last year despite that I decided I wasn't doing any practice for it this year at all, but I am dissappointed in my part B score of 18, I'm normally good at maths:rolleyes: Part A I got 39 which I was pleased enough with because I though I struggled with it! Was kind of hoping to be in the 60's, but a pass is a pass I guess, now to kick ass at the AC!!

Still Nada for me also... Did anyone from the South get feedback on their IST result?????

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 181 ✭✭B182

mine also came today 60 on the dot which im happy about was enough to pass this years and last years that i failed so its improved alot :D thou hoping im not gonna have to redo it anyway lolol

I received my mark as well today of 57 which i thought was good until i came on this site!! lol I heard they had to lower the pass mark this year from 53 to 52 because not enough people got over the mark, is this true?

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 187 ✭✭grad10

Got mine today as well, 58, hope I don't need to use it! Redbull, there weren't enough candidates from both sides of the community to fulfill the 50:50 at the original pass mark of 53 so yeah they had to lower it by 1 mark.

Not from both sides.I would imagine that not enough r/c's passed in order that they may fulfill the required quota after everything is taken into account.

That's what I meant cesc. There weren't enough candidates from both sides - as in there were only enough from one side.

i dont think anything has been released so no one knows yet but if everyones AC is quick and vetting that maybe a reason why so they can hold another one

tips just read through this forum ,lots and lots of helpful things practise your maths so you can add things fast etc

    online tests are also helpful

some people guess the last 10 questions incase they run out of time

my advice is def buy a digital countdown timer its very useful to know to have X mins and Xsecs left there is no warning the test is ending just pencils down

the test isnt hard so dont get worked up its just got a very short time to get it done so speed and accuracy is key

    hope that helps

however this is just my opinion diff for everyone i suppose
