I would just like to bring a point I have made before to your attention for anybody still to do the IST.

    ANSWER ALL THE QUESTIONS!!!

I haven't been on in a few days so only went back one page and see somebody saying they didnt answer all the questions because they didnt have time and if they had guessed they still might have got them wrong.

Well here's a news flash for yas!! If you dont answer them you've definately got them wrong!!

If you are stuck on a question stop wasting time on it - move on to the next one. And absolutely guess guess guess!!! You might still get it wrong but notice the important word there - MIGHT.

    Hey |Im a newbie around here - this may well have been mentioned previously in the thread but would appreciate if someone could clear it up for me;

Are you allowed to have a rough work section in the IST i.e. a sheet to scribble and do your calculations on or does it all have to be done "up-stairs"?

    Cheers

    Hi jumperman,

You are given one blank sheet of paper to do working out on.

I did mine yesterday too, was really surprised that it was the same as last years, although I think I found it a bit easier, only because I was familiar with the layout of the data sheet so it didnt take me as long to get my head round where to find all the info I needed.

Fingers crossed, I'm still in for C15 too, so hopefully I wont need this one!

I had just got my medical thingy signed by my doctor for C14 in the morning and got the call to start C13 that afternoon :D

couldnt agree more mate you arent penalised for incorrect answers only.....if you skip and answer then there is 0% youll get it right if you guess you have 25% of getting lucky, and that 1 mark may be the difference between welcome to the AC and sorry better luck next time

Completely agree with what everyone is saying here about the maths section. That data sheet was something else. Never expected that much information to be contained on it.

Thought I did all right though, everything was answered and thought I timed the maths section well.

Fingers crossed. I cant remember the release date for results, does anyone have an idea?

    Hey Guys,

What did ye wear to the IST? Cant decide on the suit or something more comfortable? What was the norm?????

    thanks..

Wear something casual/comfortable..........it is by no means a day for shirt & tie or suit. Whatever you feel most comfortable in.

Sweatpants and a hoody go comtfy as it's long enough with being their early and doing tests

Just after my IST. I think I did quite good... Phew... :D Part A was a walk in the park but Part B was a killer. >_< Good that you's advised to randomly mark the last questions. Now over a month wait till the results. Very frustrating. :(

It says on your letter that there is no formal dress code so definately go comfy. The test is tough enough and if you dont feel comfortable that will only add to the difficulty.

Just wear whatever you like, I just rocked up in my work clothes last year and still felt a bit overdressed. There was a few people in suits and that but they stood out like a well dressed sore thumb lol. Also, it was a lovely day when I done it last year and the room was roasting so be sensible!

Also in the dream I passed with a mark of 33 so here's hoping I've seen the future of a really nice low pass mark :D

I've been searching for applicant figures but there's no sign of anything out yet...I thought the numbers were out alot earlier than this last year? I'm near sure I can remember them being out before the IST's started...

i think they need everyone well at least everyone so they have an average score and therefore they have a pass mark to go by

would agree with above i feel i did ok then i think i failed then back to i maybe i passed just wanna forget about it completely as 7 weeks is far to long to be waiting and thinking anything over in your head

but then i done mine a week ago now 6 to go lolol

I got my results exactly to the day when they said they'd arrive last year, don't know about anyone else tho so could've just been by chance, but I wouldn't be holding my breath for them coming early.

I broke my finger tonight :( good thing it's not my writing hand as my IST is only days away!!

You must be the first person to ever have got anything on time from the process! Ive had more correspondance over the last few months about delays than anything else!!!!

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 57 ✭✭gazzabelfast

last year (c15) i got my IST result within a week!!!! and the letter saying i had passed the AC within a fortnight and the letter saying i passed within a week. The only thing that came late was my AC feedback letters.

Guess i was lucky then, but i remember in previous campaigns always getting my correspondence earlier than advised.

The corresspondance regarding my application/IST has been prompt the last 2 years but everything else has always been late! i suppose thats due to the fact that circumstance changes regarding assessment centre! Its just frustrating waiting on the postman!
