Yeah, could it really be that simple, I was surprised to see no one else pointed it out.

Having written the setence that got him thinking about it: I really wasnt ready to degrade myself by posting that theory ;)

sorry to blow your wind but I hadn't even read your post before I submitted my theory ;)

It was subliminal then. have you any notion how the mind plays tricks on you?

    Maybe YOURE the 5th.

IMHO the final toaster will have to be one of the series regulars. So that excludes Tom Zarek, Ensign Ro, Kendra Shaw or lawyer Lambkin (sp?). It would just be too much of a cheat to have someone who has only appeared in a few episodes be the final one. (IMO)

    I completely agree.

    I dont know...
I disagree because its not how much screen time the charactor has had but it will the be charactors importance. Like Shaw or Tom or Ensign Ro it could well be but i dont think so. I would be happy with it being Tom though.
    Billy Keikeya!

    Yes.

    1. In the mini series we see 6 talking with someone out of focus. Its been pointe dout before there are few chatactors taler than her and her vision is directed slightly up to make eye contact. Billy is taller.

    2. This would counter the whole Tori situtation and have a profound emotional effect on el Prez.

Im not 100% convinced but when he did die my suspecion of him went up, not down.

    .

Tom Zarek is pretty close to being a regular, I suppose. But he's is not a sympathetic character and since most of the other characters don't trust him and think he's a bollox anyway there's not so much payoff in him turning out to be a Cylon. Now if it turns out to be Admiral Adama....

But Six wouldn't have been interacting with a member of the Final Five. It was likely just a production glitch.

If we're to go with the theory that members of the Final Five are subconsciously driven to assume positions just below people of power/strategic positions, then Tom Zarek is a good bet.

Very good point, although it doesn't really seem to apply to the Chief.
Could also apply to Lee Adama ?

Not directly. The Chief is in charge of getting the Vipers in the air, which forms a very very large part of the fleets defenses.

At this point if you were to limit who it could be to only regulars, then its fairly slim pickings, and anyways its not how many times theyve made an appearence but the impact theyve made, just look at Cain or Kendra and Ellen, the best Lady Macbeth ever!

I hear what you're saying, man. I still think that the producers will want to really shock the audience when they reveal the final Cylon. For example Kendra was never even in an actual ep of BSG (please correct me if I'm wrong) so if it turned out to be her a large proportion of the audience would be saying "who the frak is she?". Not very shocking, titillating, entertaining ...
OTOH If turns out to be someone you've been seeing every week and didn't suspect then its far more dramatic. JMHO.

Anyway, what's Boxty been up to recently? ;)

You don't want it getting to stage where people are asking "Were any of the BSG crew human?" either. They could come out and reveal Admiral Adama as a cylon and I don't think people would react well to it. They've done some anti-climatic cylon reveals in the past too. That Doctor guy on Caprica for example. D'anna Biers and Brother Cavil were also never seen before the episodes in which they were revealed. Although D'anna's reveal did get an "OMG!" from me at the end :)

The best character to reveal as the final cylon would be someone who's regular enough but not part of the core cast imo. That rules out the Adamas, Starbuck and Roslin. Zarek and Dualla would be good candidates. I used to think Dualla was a cylon in Season 1, she could be very creepy sometimes :)

Why are we all so it has to be someone we know? 4 of the "crew" are why does there have to be 5?

    1. The 5th could be a unknown charactor
    2. And this one just occoured to me... Is there 12? All we have to confirm this is the word of a cylon. Six said it to baltar and then head six repeated it a few times but besides that and an anomous note which was prob from baltar anyway.

Well they have it flashed up on screen at the start of every episode, so it's safe to assume that this is what the writers are working off.

Ye that is what i have always thought as well, it is the premise of the show but what if that was the catch i dont know. Its very unlikly i know but thats all it was - A what if post.

The writers throw stuff at us all the time we dont see comming.

I was just thinking that watching the start of the last one. Everything seems set in stone, I don't see it changing.

    or how about Boomer's child?

Very doubtful since the final five's existance has been confirmed since the start of the show (the note left in Adama's office). I also doubt any of the final five are offspring of regular skin jobs.

This might be thinking too far ahead but...

I think the final Cylon could possibly be someone who is being ignored or treated badly by the President. Since we're hearing alot of things about her being a dictator etc. Someone comes to her with something that could, lets say, save the fleet, find a way to Earth or something in that vein but at the same time would endanger her leadership if she went along with it.

Then when that final one finds out they are a Cylon they are bitter toward Roslyn and the fleet. Adama and Roslyn beg the final Cylon to help them and not betray them, but feeling bitter he/she betrays them to the Cylons.

This would add more to the human nature destroys theme. (Even though it heavily supports this theroy I still don't think its Starbuck!)

Future president. Indeed. It seems so obvious now. But.....the final cylon? Surely not. He's got a history and was born to (presumably) human parents.

Do cylons have bellybuttons? edit; I suppose they must, or they wouldn't have needed the ol' cylon detector really. :D

    "shirt up"
    "got one"

All Cylon's have outties because they're freakes of nature.

It's obvious the final cylon is.....

    Bob Dylan!

But am I the only one who is a bit unimpressed by the fact that of the (presumably) millions/billions of people in the colonies, five of the twelve made it into the last 40,000 of the human race, without even realising it? It's one thing to have a shocking twist but that's a bit too much IMHO... And if the 12th Cylon happens to be a "regular" cast member too... That will just be anti-climactic or something...

But that's kind of why I don't think it will be one of the regulars... Roslin, Adama, Apollo, Starbuck, Baltar, etc... I'll be disappointed if it is...

Spoiler for tonight's (22 April) episode follows...
    What if it's Cally?

But I'd like to see the final Cylon be someone from Earth - though now that I thought of it maybe I wouldn't because it wouldn't be surprising...
I think it will not be just as simple as which character or who it is. Like maybe it is an Adam-like "first human" from whom we are all descended, or something...

I dont think its your spoiler because they wouldf have heard the music as well. and i think that would there is 13 cylons

    I agree with you.
I really liked the concept of the final five but when they revealed 4 of the 5 I was disgusted.
It was a pure cop out and poor writing, frankly a ridiculous idea.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 19 EffeekO

Initially i refused to believe the 4 were of the 5, but now theyre slowly each week backing it up, Anders getting scanned, Tori literally throwing Calli like a ragdoll, all thats left is for Chief and Tigh to do something,it is kinda too late to introduce 4 new cylons, plus one things been bugging me, Chief mentioned that his father was a priest and his mother an oracle, that kinda lends weight to the theory that hes one of the lords of Kobol

I agree with others who say that it is someone we know, but not neccessarilly a core cast member (Adamas, Roslin, Starbuck) - Gaeta, Dualla, Zarek, etc

I'm thinking Gaeta, maybe? He must be the missing Judas person from the last supper pic.

And my out-of-leftfield choice is Doc Cottle - now that would be a total blindside!

Could be anyone really. I put my bet on Kendra Shaw as the Hybrid gave her a warning at the end of Razor, moments prior to her death. The Hybrid was supposed to be prophetic, so there would be no point in him giving her a warning just before she died, unless she was due to come back in some form.

Very possibly. For some reason which I can't quite put my finger on I think he is just a little bit too obvious though.
