George McGreal, Gary Healy, Sean Harkins are all through so far

Arron Cuddihy v Darren O Reilly
    Ger Fitzpatrick v Richard Harkins
    Anto Lynch v Al Mithen
    JR Crangle v Anto Gray

If it had to call it i would say Ger Fitzpatrick, Al Mithen, JR Crangle

The first match could go either way, Darren might seek it

Il be honest lads, didnt know much about him, i took him lightly.Thought i qualified and also wasnt fully concentrating for most of the match as i was hurrying to get home for the match.I went from 4up early(thought that was job done started tinkin bout de match) to 4down in 2nd 18.You should never lose 8 holes in any match! I was 4 down wit 7 to go and it ended up going all square down 18, and credit to him great pitch on that 18th hole.I thought once i had honour on 18th and back to all square i was getting away with it.Ive never been so upset over a match.I was a Gob****e! and for that i got what i deserved - young and inexperienced cost me.Hes a sound chap best of luck to him.

Unlucky ger, its hard to concentrate when ur rushing off thats why i was delighted to play the night before, not many wanted to miss the match thats why their were so many bye's in this competition

How did darren match go with Arron

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,548 ✭✭✭Draupnir

IM out of the country with work for the next couple of weeks, only away a couple of days so far and am already badly missing the game! I cant wait to get home and practice.

Still no sign of this draw for the Dublin matchplay, they are certainly taking their time!

I'd the best round and a half of my life. He played ok but he missed a few putts too. I'd be confident I'd have beaten anyone last night. But that can change quick too! :D

Good stuff, we all need luck at some stage or another! I heard stories about how good Anto Lynch was before he stopped playin, heard he was a bit nuts as well, like most of the mountain men out in Lougho,

any word on the dub matchplay yet?

Only the two Buckleys are registered with Clara, but all the other players would be very familiar with the place. Some are associates ;) I don't know if any of yis have played Clara before, but if you haven't it would be worth playing in advance. Its not that there is anything terribly difficult about the place, but there are a lot of holes up and down the side of a hill, so guessing the length on the day will be tough, The place is in great nick all season though. They have a scratch cup on June Monday.

    Course Index:
1- 33m (uphill to small blind green, slopes left-right)
2- 44m (flat to small slightly elevated green, tricky if dry)
3- 47m (downhill to elevated green slopes towards you, drop back of green)
4- 52m (uphill to largish blind green guarded by a bank. slopes towards you)
5- 60m (downhill to big green slopes away from you)
6- 64m (uphill - blind green elevated at front)
7- 43m (downhill small green - big drop back of green)
8- 57m (flat to large green guarded by mound)
9- 44m (uphill to green set into side of hill. Large grass wall surrounds green, big drop with 2 pot bunkers at front)
    10- 60m (downhill large green 4 bunkers)
11- 50m (smallish green thats it!)
12- 43m (uphill big green slopes viciously towards you massive mound in front)
13- 46m (straight downhill decent sixe green drop off back)
    14- 45m (small unremarkable green)
15- 43m (uphill small green slopes from middle to left and right big bunker guards green)
16- 46m (straight downhill small green)
17- 46m (long green slopes from back to front massive mound front of green)
18- 55m (elevated hole to green on top of hill. Horrible slope from back to front big mound)

    Hey guys,

Can someone post up the closing date for registration for the Dublin Strokeplay qualifiers? I know they take place in early July but I just want to make sure I will be home in time to register.

Also, Hitman, if you have gotten your hands on that elusive Dublin draw yet, feel free to post it up. I am personally most interested in the Inter section but would like to see the whole lot.

    Cheers.
