Finally brought my new horsey home on Saturday! Her name is Betsey and I've just got her on long-term loan, very excited for all the horsey adventures :)

i got a new camera at the weekend, bit of a step up from my old trusty Canon EOS 350D, am still trying to get the hang of it so brought it with me today when my daughter was doing some flat work with the ponies. Unfortunately I had to reduce them to upload but the originals came out lovely and crisp. Have to join the local photography club to try get my best out of it.
I've no idea how to touch up photos or post edit them any way so any tips etc. please pass them on.

An amazing dad who takes photos like a pro was taking pics at our yards summer sj show this weekend. He captured a couple nice ones of me and my boy in action in the Maxi class and the last pic is one I took of my pretty happy appy after a bath a few weeks ago :D

Spencer and I managed to get our first clear round showjumping! Up until now I always managed to knock the first jump (Being to relaxed about the whole thing) or last jump(Getting too excited about having a clear round a little too early).

It was only 90cm but we are hoping to move up to 1m as soon as we manage to get another 1 or 2 clears...

He has been off lame for 2 weeks but this weekend we are going to be back and ready for more jumping!

serious pony to jump - but only when he feels like it. He has developed a nasty habit of ducking out of jumps. Perfect and mannerly doing flat work but put a show jump in front of him and its a different story. No problem hunting him which has me baffled.

Adrenaline, knowing that the horse in front has a just jumped in with no ill-effects.... Loadsa reasons!! :P

Hard to trust a horse like that tho which only makes the situation worse!

Takes a lot of work to get them right…. A strong rider is usually the best option for a few weeks. I used to make a nice few quid in my teens buying ponies like this and reschooling them.

Yeah, flogging them on, I think, mentally, it would be quite hard to send a horse like that to be 'fixed' and then trust it when it came back

Thank you! Lots of hard work and tears have gone in, so it's good to see progress :) She's 16.1hh, not too big! She's still losing weight and is naturally a chunky horse though, so she often looks big in pictures
