Another thing to note is the battery policy, if you do buy one you'll be forking out another €100 to replace the battery(the iPad in truth) in a year or two.

Mission boundaries may be close to public streets players may accidently enter small towns

This quote from your website sounds dodgy you might want to delete it.

Lol you know the way your ipod moves depending on which way you to tilt it ? and sometimes it can be really awkward..?

I think thats what the reference is

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 816 ✭✭✭gungun

Isn't it referencing that if you hold the new iphone upside down you loose all reception? If we keep analysing it will get less funny:P

Its 'cos the iPhone 4 loses the carrier signal when you hold it a certain way.

When asked about it, Steve Jobs is reported to have replied "Well dont hold it that way." :)

Was interested in following ipad sales this morning to see if there was as much demand surroudning the hype.

Theres a few good threads to have a nosey at on the apple forum. most stores got supplied with 10 models of each type. Seems that there is plenty to go around and will still be available tomorrow which is weird for an apple device.

Maybe people are finally copping on a little bit. I was shocked to see the pricing on them. I was half contemplating picking one up, figured it would set me back about €300. Saw the pricing and my head nearly exploded. A 64gb wifi enabled 3g connected model costing €800 euro?
    16GB Wi-Fi: €499
    32GB Wi-Fi: €599
    64GB Wi-Fi: €699
    16GB Wi-Fi and 3G: €599
    32GB Wi-Fi and 3G: €699
    64GB Wi-Fi:and 3G €799

Your basic model is costing €500?

I don't know how anyone justifies buying something like this, it is not new technology, its not groundbreaking. Most people I see are justyfing the purchases with excuses like " films while travelling" or " Ebook reader"

sorry, stinks of people defending big money purchases just so they don't admit they wasted money.

No spreadsheet or word processor software as standard?

From reading a couple of reviews this morning, the comparison for it being a inflated ipod touch is not really an exaggeration, there is little to no difference between the two in terms of operation or capabilities.

Anyone know of any other tablets incoming soon that are better (id imagine most incoming tablets will be )

i could justify buying one, but just not an Apple one...

The ipad is outselling the manufacture rate, averaging 1.4 million units per month so far.

Its fashionable overpriced silly pretty stuff, come on people, you know that sells well.

    Magpul.

HP Slate looks promising, not as snazy and lower spec screen, but very funtional.

Would be nice to see HTC make a tablet device.

    Yeah but it's Gucci.

Seriously though. I'm getting one, just not until the flurry about it blows over. I'm also not paying Irish prices when *exactly* the same unit is available direct from the US store for a few hundred euro less. Sod that. I have a very specific use for it that doesn't need to be filled until around the end of the year anyway so I'm in no rush.
