its just called weight pulling :) its fairly popular, there was about 30 dogs competing yesterday - pits, staffies, american bulldogs, mastiffs etc. its great for working breeds. gets rid of a lot of the energy/frustration build up they can suffer from.
Ah, very technical name I see! Yeah I can imagine it would be great for them altogether, I know for gun dogs if you don't give them some "work" to do they can develop a load problems, some even develop an obsession with throwing balls for them or stones or whatever. I suppose it's the same with all working breeds.

My Popey is such a handsome mature fellow, pretty happy with himself after he gifted me a poor little blue tit today :(. I have stopped feeding the birds a long time ago, so thankfully it happens a lot less these days.

That's so like our dog Diesel, she's forever getting the biggest stick available, even if its still attached to the tree!

Well, unfortunately my cat (Never gave her a name..... Just Cat :) ) died this morning. She was barely two. Think she ate something poisonous. She had given birth to four lovely kittens who were now eating solid food so she was bringing stuff back for them.....I liked me cat and I'll miss her (Blasé on the outside. Gutted on the inside. OK to show emotion about a dog but not a cat it seems) So here she is........

    Me cat........ I'll miss her

PS. On a side note, is there a thread about giving away kittens etc? I have four but I want to give two....... Cheers.

Sorry for your loss :( Happened to one of my cats too while she was pregnant on her first litter, we live beside the mart and they had poison layed out for rats. Don't know whether she sampled the poison or ate a poisoned rat but we found her dead near the entrance of the mart. She was my first kitty - cried for days! (don't worry, it's okay to show emotion for cats too!)

There is a rehoming thread here - http://www.boards.ie/vbulletin/showthread.php?p=61224710

Stick up some pics and I'm sure they will be snatched up. Alternatively if you are friends with any pounds or rescues on facebook you should contact them and let them know you have some for rehoming if they would let you advertise on their page!

Cats seem to have a habit of going missing for 10 months, my old cat Frodo went missing for ten months too! We had given up all hope, even gotten 2 new kittens in the meantime when one morning lo and behold there was his majesty sitting on the windowsill as if nothing had ever happened, little sod! He looked a lot like Salem in that picture too :D

I know, it's amazing! He's so quiet too, he would never dream of attacking another cat. He went missing in January 2011, and we had lost all hope as it was very out of character for him. In mid October my Granny was out gardening and she called me out...there he was sitting on the wall! He had a few marks on him but nothing major. He has since spent practically every day curled up on the patio furniture..or sleeping on my bed when he gets the chance! :D:)

Same happened my girlfriends cat. He went missing for about six months. But we never gave up and spotted him on Drogheda animal rescue Facebook for re-homing. Its probably about ten or fifteen miles away were he was picked up. Someone had shown interest in homing him the previous week. As soon as we walked in he turned to us. Was so happy. Always help out the animal rescue when I can. They do so much for the animals. Made the paper too. Gf will kill me for this but here's the story.

We think something happened over that time as he doesn't go out much anymore but were just so happy to have him back. Would love a camera taped to his head and see his adventure.

My dog Blaze died on Tuesday, aged 13 years. We're all quite devastated, it came on very suddenly. Anyway, here is to a happy and hilarious life! RIP.
