The huge language barrier is the main reason I'd say.

I'd know one or two, but it's definitely disproportionately lower than relationships with other foreign nationals.

I get asked this question by a polish guy i work with, he's been here four years but never had a relationship with an Irish girl.

I personally put it down to the fact that alot of polish people don't socialise in the pub, but rather get cans and drink at home. The language barrier plays a part. Plus, Polish people tend to hang around with Polish people.

My gf is foreign, i met her through her sister who's a bar maid in our local. Her sister came to Ireland two years ago with alittle English and no contacts. She made friends with us through work and she's been hanging around with us since. Plus she has a boyfriend.

Both myself and eo980 have Polish girlfriends. And I know a few other Irish friends with Polish girls too. Funnily enough though, I don't know many Polish men with Irish girlfriends.

I know some chinese students studying English here since last 5 years and still aren't bothered since they are only here on student visas to work, not actually learn anything
    Fixed that for you! :D

I get asked this question by a polish guy i work with, he's been here four years but never had a relationship with an Irish girl.

To put it simply, Irish guys can get together with Polish girls as owing to the language/cultural barriers the girls view some Irish guys as successful / attractive (they have jobs / apartments / all limbs and teeth intact). This has proven a boon for Irish guys working in IT and related industries that were previously in danger of dying out through the extreme unlikelihood of any of them hooking up with Irish girls who realise that beeing "l337" at BF2 is not a desirable characteristic.

The other way around, the only girls the Polish guys would have any chance with are complete Skangers, so they prefer to guzzle titanic quantities of vodka, wander around with shaved heads and combats, work on building sites and host terrifyingly noisy parties that involve the sound of wood being sawn at 4.00 am. Based on personal experience that is.

    Over to you eo980 ;)

What can i say? the guy doesn't have amazing English, he still makes mistakes and although ive pointed them out he hasn't really picked up on it. Some people take languages better than others.

Also, Irish girls love humour, it plays a massive role in pulling birds (in my opinion). When you're learning, or have learned a new language, it can be hard to be funny. Some of the polish lads i know are very funny but im not sure if its the type of humour you'd use to pull a girl :P

Why does he need to go to Adverts? He's not selling anything, he's promoting a site he's working on. I do the same in my signature (miniclub.ie), Sparky-S does the same with his Home Entertainment Forum and Elisha Cuthbert Site, and many other users do the same (Ciarannfo for Multitext, etc).

No i just got the feeling that the OP is trying to Spam as u know loads of time people do on AH.

All i said that its already clear when you have a link in ur SIG mentioning that very clearly and she/he dont need to specifically point it out.

But OP appears to be ok ;)

There's no rule that says you can't do both.

I'd love to have a Polish g/f, alot them have exceptional bodies that are model like, where do they socialize, they are not in coppers anyway

  • Registered Users Posts: 12,683 ✭✭✭✭Owen

It's a lot more than the body. My other half has stunning looks and a great body too, but it's her personality that sold me, she's extremely supportive in everything I do, and loyal to a fault, and works through problems with a positive end in sight.
