If it's ZPI then maybe the last of the MkII's because it also has Ford spot lights too so maybe Ford were clearing the parts bins in prep for the Mk III ?

    It's ZFI.

Saw one of Kevin Byrne's Ford V8s. This one was a teardrop one from the late 30s. It was sick because it had dropped a valve, so was getting fixed. Should have taken a photo. Nice shape of car.

Also the Beemer above looks well too. Neat shape.

They're like Fiat side indicators - usually only on Italian models, but in conjunction with white front indicators so maybe jusy added here

The reason they look like Fiat ones is that they are probably Carello Lights. German Built Mk2's has Carello lights (mine does), while the British/Irish built ones had Lucas lights. The German market Escort had them side indicators and I think the Scandinavian ones had them.

<anorak> Also, it's not a late Mk2, it's an early one built before '77 as it has the early grill. The bumper is a Ghia one </anorak>

There was a 940 MkI at Terenure last year, and there's a chap near Laragh has a minter or two in sheds - uses them for movie work AFIK. The doors clunk shut like a Lincoln Continental :) ( The only mismatch on one of them was 'ESCORT' in Mk5 lettering on the MkII  )

I have loads of the UK 'Ford Cars' brochures, from
    76 up till 86.

We need a classic car brochure thread, I might dig out some old stuff and kick it off.

Yes, 2 X1/9s and a Tempra. Didn't know if they were worthy of this thread so I just threw it up here! Can get more pics if there is interest :)

Robbed of most good parts to save another X1/9 and practically forgotten about at this stage.... The red X1/9 has been around since 1986 and has held up well. The black one.... Hasn't!

don't know if a tractor counts, just found it interesting. was up investigating the land around a house my dad has inherited that nobody has lived on since the 80's. a garage full of car related tat and this rotting away outside. dad says it's called a "grey ass" means nothing to me but i thought it was interesting.

…Dad says it's called a "grey ass" means nothing to me but i thought it was interesting.

It looks like a Ferguson TE20 (a.k.a. The Little Grey Fergie), a very successful model from just after WW2. Harry Ferguson, who designed it, was quite a designer and engineer.

A few cans of WD40, £420 for a bonnet and £30 apiece for the mudgards, you could do a lot worse than invest some summer days in getting it running ;)

don't tempt me. i'd say mam would up and leave if myself or dad brought anymore old automotive ****e home to tinker with :pac:

having read the wiki link i wonder is it petrol or diesel engined now.

its literally standing in that exposed spot the last 35 years i believe, i'd say it'd take a lot more to get her going unfortunately.

Also known as 'the grey mare' ,

Is that a piece of downpipe acting as an exhaust extension ? !

I remember being told about a similar yoke 30 years ago but couldn't find the field it was 'parked' in - eventually found (the tail of) it sticking up through the clay

she is a little tvo 20 ferguson, just going buy dash, and the side we can see has no starter motor. as in when sitting on it the tvo has it at your left foot, dsl has it at your right foot.

a great machine, thought id say she well siezed at this stage,no cover over exhaust,or down pipe:)

ive a few of these and they are great, and can still work for there keep.

id love to get my hands on it,keep me posted on whats going to happen to her.
