thats because its their own fault. if they hadn't left her on her own none of this would have happened.

Here is a mental idea. Could the parents not have left the children with a relative and then go on holiday without the children. Makes sense to leave children with someone than no one at all.

That's why sane people employ babysitters. They had the money, like whatever about kidnappings, I couldn't imagine leaving children less than 4 in a house on their own for that amount of time.

What kind of parents leave three children all under the age of 4, on their own in a hotel room in a foreign country while they go out? They were probably leaving them there every night. It's a sad case alright and I hope nothing happens to the child (though I think she is already dead), but the parents have only themselves to blame.
I know it sounds harsh but come on.

I'm pretty sure they already do. Jesus how shoite must they feel right now.

But, as 6th said, some scumbag still broke in and took her, death is too good for some people.

No other comment to make other than [in my opinion] Sky News are the lowest of the low reporting without integrity or moral standards of any kind. The worse the news is, the more tragic it becomes the more Sky News seem to thrive on its minutae with unfettered glee.

Their sickening gutter ethos and vapid vacuous general mode of operation has always reminded me of the glib faux-reporters seen outside Columbine in Moores Bowling For Columbine.

P.S. Your thread title could do with a comittee meeting and a complete overhaul

Im sitting here in an office in Dublin, there are 2 posters up in the canteen, chain emails being sent around and even bleedin www.dervish.ie has a picture of her on the main page.
Guys, believe me, shes not here, I have checked several times!

Pointless replaying the same pictures outside of the area she went missing in.
Unless you were passing by the room you dont know anything, 10 to 1 (if still alive) she looks nothing like she used to.

I think I agree with you, at least i would if I knew what you were talking about.

Sky have a 24x7 news channel, this is great for them because it gives them something to talk about and might get them some viewers.

it is physically impossible to watch your children 24/7 -- although the attitude here is you must , probably by many who are not parents ! -- same as the belief that all teens should be monitored at all times by an adult when on a computer -- we don't live in an ideal perfect world , and child abduction is extremy rare -- parents need a life too -- and i think the lack of symapathy here to the parents in this case is scary .

There's not watching them 24/7 and then there's leaving 3 kids under 5 while you go out for dinner in a foreign country. You're not stupid I know you know the difference.

Several years ago, one of our girls was shopping with my wife in Tralee. She spotted a couple of young kids with a man, even made a comment about them looking like two girls that she'd seen on the news. The man looked a bit flustered and kept on walking. Nothing more was said by either my daughter or wife.
A week later, the same people got rounded up at a caravan site a few miles up the coast. It turned out that they were the same kids/people that the UK Social Services/police had been looking for. I think that the couple wanted to adopt these foster-kids and weren't allowed, so did a runner.

You never know - better take another look!

Lord i am so sick of hearing about this, have you seen how myspace is now plugging this story? They have a page setup for her with a dozen celebrity friends, its a f$kin atrocity, why is this child so vastly different from every other child victim?
    Sick of it.

Why, is this kind of thing a regular occurance in this part of the world? The difference with this is the parents are doing everything they can to keep her in the media. They rang up Celtic football club asking them if they can help in some way. Celtic said they'd were yellow ribbons for their match last week and put up an article on their website. It's just something nobody is going to turn down for obvious reasons.

What annoys me is the way that Sky News just milks it to death....I don't need regular updates telling me that nothing has changed since the last update which also said that.I really don't.Tell me if something changes........

We also don't need an entire Saturday taken up watching a whale in the River Thames. It's your choice if you want to watch it. :) Sky will show anything that will get the viewers.

True!:D But as you said it was a whole Saturday.....ie one day,( overall a few at the most-i think that story and its associated milking that bordered on irrelevant went on for a while longer),but this story has been getting too much airtime for too long.Sure the day that cop got killed in England it got next to no exposure relative to her.Imo thats just as big a story

    Just a thought...

Why didn't the person or persons who abducted the child take her twin sisters?

There's big bucks for twins in the porno industry (so I'm told), why wouldn't a pedo want twins as well?

Seriously. It was the parents who left children on their own. The parents should be charged with child endangerment.

Wait a minute! the children were in bed asleep. The door was locked from outside, as far as I know the windows were also closed. The chances of this happening were several million to one. My sympathies are with the mother and father, they feel badly enough already, they were not soothsayers and could not ever have forseen this happening. Hindsight is an exact science.

That is ridiculous. What if one of the children wandered around the apartment and found a knife and cut themselves? Because the doors were locked that would make it all ok? Also doors and windows being locked never stopped people gaining entry to a property before, what makes this situation different?

The thoughts of your children being kidnapped probably wouldn't enter your mind but I don't know how anyone could leave kids locked in a house for half an hour. Imagine a 3 year old waking up and realising her parents have locked them in the house. She'd be scared to go asleep ever again. Not to mention the chance of one of the kids doing physical harm to thereselves, or whatever.
