i see..so then if i were to go on like this and it happened more often and then came the day i didnt have the money in my account for a transaction i forgot about after the reserve period went by..i wouldnt be chased afterwards..well that makes me feel alot better..i wont go ahead and buy anything else until they have taken it out anyhow just in case..the shop has always been quick of processing previous orders on another card..always completing them before i got the items i bought..so i dont know if its just a once off thing with them or if there having trouble getting it done with wirecard..ill see how long more it takes and if its still the same in another two weeks..do you think i should email wirecard or the shop about it?

and thanks for the info on the obligations and stuff i had no idea thats the way it went

It is more than likely a problem at the shops end where a batch of transactions were not transmitted for completion to their acquiring bank. They should have realised this and resubmitted them. Normally the terminal will go mad when a batch is not submitted correctly. It is all down to the shop.

I think I have done the impossible, I have put my wirecard into the red. It says there is a shortfall of €0.48, which should be settled immediately. :)

How the hell can that happen?

you bought something and an amount was reserved which was covered. However the final fee grew and took you into the red?

This is in their FAQ I think. Your supposed to contact them about it if I remember correctly.

Fat chance of that happening. :D

The money is there instantly when depositing by credit card. Be careful as they have locked accounts for depositing too much by credit card.

    How much is too much?

I'd like to buy a projector off Ebay but they only take PayPal. It's 650 euro so if I buy two 3V Vouchers (350 & 350) can I deposit these to my WireCard? Would they close my account?

Made a direct international bank transfer from BOI branch on the 15th - still hasn't shown up.

This is my first time using the wirecard service since my previous local transfer - it was 3 months before my money was returned to me that time.

Phone them! But I hope you don't get the little smart mouth I got who insists and going on and on like:

'Sir, from time to time when a transaction takes place for whatever reason your bank fails to add the correct information in their reference fields and the payment shows as a third party payment"

She repeated this a dozen times when I spoke to her and in the end I was screaming at her to shut her mouth. I never get like that with anyone but this comapany is a joke.

Anywhere else online you get emails every time you you change so much as your profile. PayPal send emails the second you receive a payment. Their emails are not based on a chain system so every reply goes to a new customer support rep who will then email you the same nonsense.

You would think that just one bank in this bloody country would have a decent Mastercard or Visa debit card or even a 'secured' Credit Card like they have all over the UK and the states.

People just want to spend THEIR money online - how hard can this be? PayPal don't even allow you to 'add funds' with the 3V Voucher - why? Your blocked at every turn.

Here's that number. Record the call and stick it on YouTube for us will ya -- I could do with a laugh :)

I still stand by Wirecard. It's great for me. If you use the AIB International transfer with IBAN etc you shouldn't have a problem. The funds may take a while to show up but they will show up if you gave all the correct info.

Nico, you can only deposit €300 per week with Credit Card, but you can deposit an unlimited amount with Wire transfer if your account is verified, if it isn't verified you can deposit whatever remains of your €2,500 limit before verification, so if you just opened your account, you can deposit €2,500 in one go but once that's gone, you need to verify your account.

Think I'm still below the €2,500 but I don't trust the transfer system (loca or international IBAN) anymore. I have had problems with them finding payments even with the account number and phone number in the ref field.

I'm waiting for Neteller to get back to me regarding the KasyKard.

Almost certainly they would. Anything over €300 a week will cause them to freeze your account.

Hmm what happened here, paid quite a big sum for something which I have received already, the money was "reserved" on my wirecard and only the sum, minus this amount was available to be used again. Now nothing is reserved and it seems the full amount is available again:confused:

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 29,472 ✭✭✭✭Our man in Havana

Yes, and it can be spent again. The people you have purchased from have failed to batch their terminal within 7 days. They now run the risk of loosing the money, esp if you spend it again.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 20,854 ✭✭✭✭cormie

Well it's JUST hit the seven day thing a few hours ago (didn't check today before that though). So as soon as it hits the 168th hour it's put back on? Can they now take it any time without me even knowing it's about to be taken I wonder? Does the same apply to Laser cards because I still haven't been charged for something I bought last Thursday. Oh and is it 168 hours or 7 working days? Would the bank holidays be taken into consideration (I suppose not since the money has been put back to "available").

I just tried transferring some cash into Wirecard there, and they want me to register my bank account? I have to put in all sorts of details such as IBAN etc. How long have they be requesting this? Its been a while since I last deposited cash, probably November but I used the IBAN system. Of course I don't have all the details on me at the moment which is annoying!!! I'm guessing the route number is the sort code? And where do I get the SWIFT/BIC code from?

    Cheers!

I don't understand...how are they asking for you to register your bank account? Did they contact you by email?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 80 ✭✭MjM

When I use the wirecard site and click on deposit money and I enter a value, it says this at the top of the screen:
Deposit money into your account via wire transfer

Register your bank account with Wirecard and it's easy to transfer money to your Wirecard account - via easy EU standard transfers or worldwide via SWIFT or IBAN transfers, and in many countries to a local Wirecard account.

Deposits via wire transfer will normally be credited to your account within three business days. Please note that the general deposit restrictions also apply for deposits via wire transfer. For further information on these limits, please also see our "Help" section.

IMPORTANT: Please note that incoming wire transfers are only permitted from registered bank accounts. Therefore, you must register your account before you make a transfer.

I'm guessing it could be possible to just do it the usual way and enter in the IBAN code of my account and the Wirecard BIC code. But it sounds like it could be blocked. Maybe you guys authorised your accounts before for wiring large amounts?

I had to register a Bank Account too recently. Apparently, under German banking rules, they have to know the details of the sender the wire is coming from. If they don't recognise it, then they'll return it. You can apply (by contacting them) to get your account changed to allow all incoming transfers, but you've got to fill out forms and send a copy of your passport etc. etc.

When I registered my Bank Account, it wasn't recognising my IBAN (IE20AIBK<routing><acc>) - removing the AIBK part did the trick.

As for the routing number, that's the 6 digit code on your ATM card (00-00-00).

SWIFT/BIC can be googled. AIB's for example is AIBKIE2D.

You can get your IBAN from past transactions on Wirecard - click Overview and then the arrow beside your last transfer.

On my screen everything is there except what is written after "IMPORTANT". Maybe because I verified already then I'm ok...hope so.

Anyone else get an email from them saying that you have to use SEPA to transfer money to them from Irish accounts from now on?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 20,854 ✭✭✭✭cormie

No? What's SEPA? Will it effect AIB online banking transfers do you know?

I got the same email some time ago. It stated that the Irish local account is gone. I think SEPA is "Single Euro Payments Area". I don't think it makes any difference to iban transfers although I was going to post and ask.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 29,472 ✭✭✭✭Our man in Havana

SEPA and IBAN are basically the same thing.

Cool, thanks, so no need to worry for AIB Internet users :)

Yeah, it's not possibly to send it back to your bank account from Wirecard. Just purchase something with it, or use it towards a purchase.
