How long are wirecard taking to process IBAN deposits. I sent €210 yesterday via AIB's urgent service, same day value. It has still not yet appeared in my wirecard account. Normally urgent deposits appeared the same day around 10pm.

Have they gotten slow in crediting accounts?
    Bond, it'll take 3 - 4 business days!

It takes that long with the standard AIB IBAN service which I am aware of. Usually paying out the 12.70 got the money in the same day.

So your saying that it now takes 3-4 business days regardless of using the urgent IBAN service?

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 10,012 ✭✭✭✭thebman

Yeah they just hold on to the money for 4-5 days. I'm convinced that's where they make their money. Take all your clients money for 4-5 days and invest it around and by the time you have to give it to your client, someone else will have made a transfer so the invested amount never goes down.

That's how I think it works anyway and then they get your 1 euro fee each time for tea and biscuits or to pay staff or whatever.

    They said this to me:

We would like to inform you that we are doing our best but that unfortunately
sometimes processing wire transfers could take longer. We apologize for any
inconveniences this may cause and thank you for your understanding.

Doesn't explain a lot, I waited what was it, 11 or 12 days for my non urgent AIB wire transfer to go through. I wonder, if Halifax are picky as to approving for an account, would you be just as well to apply for a normal credit card?

My urgent transfer from yesterday has just appeared. :)
Hardly worth giving AIB 12.70 thou.

Hmm I dunno, depends how urgent it actually was for you, my non urgent one took 12 days, and it was actually pretty urgent, had to end up using somebody else's CC while waiting for the money to show up.

SO IT SEEMS TO BE SIMILAR TO 3V EXCEPT IT'S A PHYSICAL CARD :D SO IT CAN BE USED IN SHOPS AND RESTAURANTS - LIMIT 20-350EURO - IT COSTS 6  BUT WORTH IT IMO TO HAVE A PHYSICAL CARD.
MUST BE BOUGHT WITH AN 'IRISH ISSUED' CREDIT CARD! :p
STILL - IT'S A START AND ITS A CARD NOT A PIECE OF PAPER!

just me again (talking to myself :D)
    just read this:
MBNA Gift Card at first glance it looks like a Visa Buxx, it has a physical card for flashing around, however the Visa brand is qualified with the dreaded suffix of “Electron” which is the debit brand so its online acceptance will be worse then the laser

Neteller now has a mastercard to repleace their old card you need to have 15 euro balance in your account before you can place a order.I sent for one last week will see how long it takes to arrive I read on another forum that funding the card from your Neteller account is pretty slow and takes around 4 days will see.

Wirecard support in Second Life? lol... wonder do they give quicker responses than their emailing friends.

    Link:
    https://www.wirecard.com/wirecard/SecondLifeWirecard.html

I don't have 2nd life and couldn't be bothered setting it up just incase I need to bug them again so haven't tested it myself.

I posted about Second Life long ago in the thread if you were bothering to read the replies. In true Wirecard form it was very good at the start, there was always someone there and they would talk to you immediately. Lately though there would be no response from the rep, they would not be at the pc. And yesterday there was no one there at all.

    Sums Wirecard up for me.

I installed it last week, signed up, walked around like a twat for half an hour or so trying to get out of the tutorial zone and over to the Wirecard bank and it was a total waste of time. The rep was there but couldn't tell me anything. All they could do was say they'd forward my query onto the accounting department and they'd email me back the next day. Guess what? No email.

Is there any kind of european version of the small claims court? I'll get in touch with the German regulator in the mean time but I've given up emailing Wirecard or even trying to get an answer from them.

Since I'm having such problems with the local accounts I'm thinking of doing an IBAN. Are you guys calling into a branch and doing an IBAN payment or doing it from online banking? How long does it take for funds to show up? Do you get any evidence that you made a payment just in case they "lose" your payment?

I'm not doing anything wrong with the local accounts but the latest one has gone missing. They'll probably find it (touch wood) but in the interim the price of the thing I wanted to buy has increased and I just gave up and bought a 3V....really really annoying, especially when you're waiting and checking the web site for money to show that never does.

By the way are there any other wirecard users using the local accounts and having problems?

Hi Paul Savory Ax, I last used a local account about a month ago and am waiting for them to return my money. I have an email verifying that they have recieved the money and an email saying they'll return it but its been 7 working days and nothing so I'm going to email them again tomorrow.

did you go through the verification process? I did, for all the good it did!

I'm in the exact same position as you, except it's been 2-3 weeks since they said they'd return it!

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 10,012 ✭✭✭✭thebman

I just sent them an email asking them why they hadn't returned it after several working days. I told them I expect to have it back within the next 5 working days so we'll see how things go.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 83 ✭✭Protocol7

I'm still waiting too. I emailed them twice asking for confirmation of when they sent the money back and if they used the right account number. They never replied so I emailed a complaint to BaFin detailing the whole sorry saga and the next day I got an email from the accounts department saying they were looking into it and to be patient. It's been over six weeks since I sent the money, I dunno how much more patience they need. But at least it was a response.

The local account is borked. It will never work properly with an unverified account so it's IBAN or bust from here on.

Man, I verified and its still not working. On the 1st November I lodged a small amount thinking since I had verified, it would be a breeze but still no sign of it. I went to my bank today and they checked and said it went through perfectly fine with all details correct.

I lost my rag and regrettably sent in an angry email last week so they ignored me for a while....I'm glad to hear you reported them to someone and they got their asses kicked...they deserve it.
