what really annoys me was I was on the phone to Wirecard and they couldn't give me any explanation as to WHY things got held up.

i've given up on wirecard completely.... waste of time...they kept locking my account... thank god i only deposited 6 euro cause i'll probably never see it again. Does it state anywhere on their website that the plastic card is not available here yet... seems misleading to me... if i'd have known that at the start i wouldn't have bothered... did i miss it somewhere?

what about student credit card? i got approved by BOI no prob. They're very good to students (to try and hang onto them...)

Can you set up 365 online for wire transfer online.

Anyone know how to do it. Its taken forever to get 365 setup through verification etc.

Can it be done online without filling out forms.

Also could people be specific, I'm a newb to 365 and wirecard.

it took me just over 2 weeks to setup 365online and the int. transfer beneficery. i setup the 365online over the phone and added my account to int. transfer beneficery online.

Edit : took about 4 days to get the 365online setup the rest was waiting for the activation code for the beneficery.

I dont know what to put for int. transfer beneficiary? Would I put in the same details as you have? If so what do I put in ?

Put the details you registered with i.e address, add your IBAN (click MYAccount then the blue arrow next to Account Details and you'll see them, should look like DExxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx) Swift/Bic which the BIC is WIREDEM1 and not WIREDEM1XXX and it'll ask for their address on another page ,I put Postfach 31 05 44,04163 Leipzig, Germany.

I'm in the exact same position as you, except it's been 2-3 weeks since they said they'd return it!

Still waiting.. Despite the fact that it was apparently returned over 2 weeks ago.. ARGH!

does anyone know how to make a complaint with the german financial regulator?

Nope, no idea. I'd try threatening them with it first. Will probably scare them into taking action.

Obviously not threaten but say something like if you do not return my money within the next 5 working days, I'll be forced to report your lack of cooperation with the German financial regulator.

    Information is here: http://www.bafin.de/beschwerden/beschwerden_bb_en.htm

Basically just email poststelle@bafin.de with the story and be sure to include your postal address. I didn't get any response back from the regulator but as I said previously I did get an email from Wirecard the day after. So I guess BaFin must have got on their case. Still no sign of my money back yet. I guess if this still doesn't work the only step left is litigation.

I lodged money yesterday the 19th and its there today!! Fantastic. What service...this time it took one day, the last time 2 weeks. Mad mad service.

I was just in the middle of sending an epic complaint to BaFin using their German language bank complaint form, and my limited knowledge of Deutsch. But Firefox crashed on me and I don't have the heart to start again. Anyone had any luck with complaints?

    I'v a feeling Protocol's situation is a cooincidence..

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 10,012 ✭✭✭✭thebman

Can you not submit a complaint in English?

Shouldn't we able to complain to the Irish financial regulator and have them handle this for us given we don't speak German? I don't want to have to learn a foreign language to get my money back.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 83 ✭✭Protocol7

I just sent an email in english to the email above and included my name and address at the end. They sent me a letter afterwards saying they have contacted Wirecard about my complaint and were awaiting their response. Since then things moved a little smoother and I got the money back in my account today. Just short of 2 months since it left it.

They asked for my iban/swift codes to transfer the money back. So I'm guessing that if they said they had sent the money back they probably didn't have the required info to do so. If the money is in Germany they could send it back to their local BOI account and then back to the "third party". But that's a bit awkward so they probably prefer to use IBAN. It does seem they only have a handful of procedures for handling money and if anything doesn't fit those, the whole system collapses. And the local accounts seem to be the straw that broke the camel's back.

So if you still haven't gotten your money back, I'd suggest contacting Wirecard and giving them your IBAN and SWIFT/BIC codes and see if they will return the money. AIB Customers will have these on their statements. If that fails, then there's BaFin. Or at least the threat of them.

Any truth in something i saw back in this thread a while back about not being allowed to use Wirecard on Dell? Have about €800 in my account and a cheap Dell wouldn't go amiss! :D

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 83 ✭✭Protocol7

I think the issue with Dell was that your Wirecard isn't an Irish "card". Same reason you can't use it on the iTunes store.

But if it was me, and I had €800 spare, I wouldn't spend it at Dell anyway ;)

    Re: Dell
Couldn't you use the German site?

    Or ring them?

    Re: wirecard
I told them I was aware of someone reporting them to the German regulator. I told them I didn't want to do this but would have no other choice if they didn't return my money. They said they've put through the transfer. It hasn't shown up in my account yet though. Shouldn't it turn up in my account immediately after they transfer it?

They asked for my iban/swift codes to transfer the money back. So I'm guessing that if they said they had sent the money back they probably didn't have the required info to do so. If the money is in Germany they could send it back to their local BOI account and then back to the "third party". But that's a bit awkward so they probably prefer to use IBAN. I suppose telling people this when they contact them would be way too much hassle. What an amateur operation.

Hmm, their speed of lodgement really seems to have picked up! I lodged 100 on saturday to the german a/c from aib online, was there today, usually it takes ~5 working days for me..

Used Wirecard to buy something off Dell during the week on the off-chance they'd accept it.

They accepted payment, got acknowledgment and confirmation. And it's now in pre-production.

Guess it does work with Dell!

I got asked for information to return money to my account at last because I won't give them my other details but I want to know:

    rounting
    number

What the hell is a routing number (assuming they misspelled it). Is this just my sort code? Presumably national sort code for AIB instead of my branches.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 29,472 ✭✭✭✭Our man in Havana

They want your IBAN and BIC. You will find these on your bank statement

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 20,854 ✭✭✭✭cormie

Maybe they mean the routing number of your wirecard account? It's on the "account details" page.

I've just transferred the last of my money before I have to verify it. My brother made two transfers recently and they both showed up with a day or two so maybe they are getting better? I also received an email reply within 24 hours:eek: how much more I could deposit before I had to verify and they answered it well too!

Are they getting better? Suppose I'll wait and see how long the transaction that just went through AIB this morning takes to show up in my WC account.

I don't think so:confused: If you want to apply for the limitless account do this:

    (from an email I got):

Wow that seems like a lot of hassle, its easier to apply for a credit card.

Basically is what you have to do, to go to your local guarda station and ask them to photocopy your passport and sign off that is a legit copy, then send the copy along with the downloadable forms and 2 utillity bills to the wirecard authority?

And why would you have to do that to spend more than €2500, i mean this becomes neccessary after you have already spent €2500 so whats the big deal in not letting you continue?

    EDIT: Terms of limit
    11.3. Maximum Load Amount
The credit on the Wallet can be loaded up to a maximum amount of 2500 euros per annum unless the User redeems a sum of 1000 euros or more in the same calendar year in accordance with Clause 1. If the customer so wishes, higher load amounts can be used following separate agreement and the performance of additional proof of identity checks.

    Allowed €2500 annually with Wirecard

Whats the combined limit on 3v before having to be issued another card?

If they want to verify your address i cant see why they cant send a letter to your registered address with a confirmation code that you then verify on your wirecard account.

Thats how Moneybookers do it, once you enter the code and verify you recieved the letter at your address you are then granted an outgoing 90 day limit of €22000.00. You can still only debit your account with €3000 for any 60 day period. If only it was widely accepted like wirecard was.

They're getting a lot faster transferring money now. Only took two days this time, and it appeared on a saturday, not bad :)

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 861 ✭✭✭deaddonkey

this has probably been posted before, but i ain't readin' back through 29 pages to find out :D;)

i got a wirecard account and sent a wire transfer from my bank account to the value of 1500 euros to buy bits and pieces online

got an email from wirecard saying they couldn't accept transfers from 3rd parties (odd, i thought, cos it was from the bank account in my name) and that i had to verify my account with a verified passport and utility bills, and i gave up, cos the bills here aren't in my name.
i'm waitin' for them to wire my money back to me.

less hassle to get a credit card i reckon, and to hell with the 40/year shennanigans.

You broke their rules. €300 a week up to a max of €2500 a year without verification.
Also those local accounts are causing all the hassle.
