    This Week:

    Paradroid (C64) - 500

Thats it. I have a feeling I'm looking at this through rose coloured glasses, but I loved this game when I was a teenager. That 999 robot scared the ****e out of me :)
    Its probably horribly dated now.....

Also out this week on WiiWare:

Dr. Mario, FFCC: My Life as King, LostWinds, Star Soldier R, TV Show King, Toki Tori

Should this thread be renamed to "Virtual Console and WiiWare Releases" ??
Does Wiiware get updated the same time?

    Virtual Console:

    Burning Fight (NeoGeo) - 900
    Pokemon Puzzle League (N64) - 1000
    Samurai Shodown (NeoGeo) - 900

Nothing new on Wiiware, and no sign of the new Nintendo Channel yet....

Hmm, samurai showdown at last but I think I'll hold out for the samurai showdown anthology which has SS2, my personal favourite from the series.

Pokemon Puzzle League is a really wonderful puzzle game but unfortunately the price really isn't justified. It's just basically panel de pon with pokemon characters, they should have released the cheaper snes version.

Haven't played burning fight but by all accounts it's trash.

It seems nintendo have rooted around their unreleased and vast back catalogue of their own games and other companies and given us a real treat this week.

    Sweet F*ck All!

Nintendo better not make a habit of this. They're just getting lazy now, why not axelay australia already got the PAL version?

There is a new WiiWare game called Actionloop Twist (a puzzloop clone) for 1000 points.

They have hundreds of quality games to choose from for the VC.

Not a bad week this week...

Alex Kidd in Miracle World - SMS (500)
    Fatal Fury 2 - NeoGeo (900)
    Nebulus - C64 (500)
    Ninja Combat - NeoGeo (900)
    Last Ninja 2 - C64 (500)

Nothing new in WiiWare this week.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 2,332 ✭✭✭valleyoftheunos

Last Ninja 3 is alright, although 3 is better.

Was never into Alex Kidd although some people loved it.

    WiiWare:

    Block Breaker Deluxe (800)
    Cocoto Fishing Master (700)

    Virtual Console:

Zip. Zilch. Nada. (as of 3 mins past midnight)

Hands up who wants to pay €8 for a breakout game?? Anyone? Anyone?

    New this week:

    Cybernoid (C64) - 500
King of the Monsters (NeoGeo) - 900
    Pac-Attack (SNES) - 800

    Wiiware:

    Pop (700)
    My Pokemon Ranch (1000)

    Nothing on VC.

Interested in Pop, but not spending €7 without some kind of demo to try out first.

Same. I usually don't even bother to check what's released each week anymore. I thought they were just slow to release games at the start but its gotten worse. We're lucky if we see 1 good game a month now.

    VC:

    Art of Fighting 2 (NeoGeo) - 900
    Ninja Commando (NeoGeo) - 900

Anybody know if points can expire? Mine are in serious danger of going to waste if they do.

Looks like we will be getting even less VC games from now on. Looks like a week on week off alternating for VC and Wiiware. Load of my arse to be honest.

  • Registered Users Posts: 55,453 ✭✭✭✭Mr E

    OK.... this weeks treasures.

    City Connection (NES) - 500
    IK+ (C64) - 500
Neo Turf Masters (NeoGeo) - 900

IK+ is fun for a while, but I'm not paying a fiver for it...

  • Moderators, Category Moderators, Computer Games Moderators Posts: 50,819 CMod ✭✭✭✭Retr0gamer

I never saw the appeal of IK+. In fact other than the fighters pants falling off every so often I thought it was ****.

Neo Turf Masters brings back memories, it's actually a very good golf game.

The main appeal of IK+ for me was the music - I was a big fan of C64 music back in the day, and IK+ was one of my favourite Rob Hubbard pieces.

The gameplay was OK (if not too far advanced from the original International Karate), but it was good looking for a single load 1987 C64 game.

21 years ago.... holy shit I'm old.

Oh man, I am awful addicted to this game. One of the most playable golf games ive ever played!

Going to download this right now, cant afford to buy it for my AES!

Lostwinds is actually pretty good. Wiiware seems poor in general tho.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 2,332 ✭✭✭valleyoftheunos

Had a look at WiiWare, how overpriced is it! With the exception of lost winds it seems way off the pace.

    WiiWare:

    Defend Your Castle (500 points)
    Wild West Guns (1000 points)

Defend Your Castle looks like a Tower Defense type game, and Wild West Guns is a light gun-style shooter.

Unless I'm confused (and I often am) Defend your castle has bit of Rampart going on.

Maybe.... I didn't download it, so I'm only going on the description. :)
