What is the point is dragging up a thread from what 2007 :O

This is of no relevance now and should not even be thanked.

Put the thread back where it belongs,
    in the past....

How is it of no relevance? The poster may have dug up the thread but he has made a decent contribution and therefore the topic will remain open and I have no issues thanking the poster for his contribution and an insight into things.

Neither of the courses are closed for applications so future applications for such courses may find his comments very useful.

Any further issues by PM please. Thanks.

As I replied a while ago to a " lucky " WITer who is coming to Trinity CS, " you might be better to stay a mile away ! "
As Prof Vinny Cahill says, " Eating or sleeping are no excuse for not handing up an assignment ".
We are the dogsbodies of TCD .
    We are the Elite

As a JF in Trinity CS you become living proof that time shrinks !

That says, it gets much easier when you get through the JF year, from then on -
and it's worth it too - some people actually enjoy it !

BTW for all jobs that arise in Trinity, students must get first preference - and they do !
For emergencies there is a damned good welfare system that will help you with cash.
For a small emergency you will be handed a hundred euro in cash to be paid back in a month !
You don't have to buy any of your course books - Trinity Library has stacks of them all.
There is a fabulous tutor's system, where you are assigned your own tutor who acts as the contact between you and the college, basically he will act as your lawyer and defend and plead for you if you're in a spot .

The bad news is that there are very few, if any, ladies in CS in Trinity or any other CS worldwide, yet women do make excellent programmers . , this is a matter that is giving rise to doctoral theses !
