Choc Mint, Strawberry Cream, Vanilla and Cookies and Cream aren't bad - Although to be honest, come the end of a 2.5kg bad I am sick of whatever flavour I get, so I switch them up, buy the odd 1kg for a change.

Judging by the status of the online tracking of my order, I'll have the following waiting when I get home:

5kg Impact Whey Protein: Strawberry Cream
    5kg Impact Whey Protein: Vanilla
5kg Impact Whey Protein: Chocolate Smooth
    5kg Impact Whey Protein: Banana
5kg Impact Whey Protein: Cookies & Cream

A hell of a lot of protein but I got it delivered to work in the North, got it price-beaten with another UK website and used the 10% off voucher code.

Came to a total of 225 euro including delivery.

I hope you don't get a bad bag cause 5kg is a lot to force down your neck.

That's true. I haven't had a bad bag yet though so here's hoping.

I also order for 2 friends from time to time so I know they'll be coming looking for some at some point too.

For myself, I'm just going to work my way through the rest based on best before dates, i.e. open the shortest dated first. :D

    Hopefully not.

I got a bad bag of them. Its was vanilla and I couldn't get it down without gagging. I'd hate for someone to end up with 5kg of the crap I got :D

    lol....

For those of you buying in the near future, the best before dates on these are:

    March 2012
    5kg Impact Whey Protein: Vanilla

    April 2012
5kg Impact Whey Protein: Cookies & Cream

    May 2012
5kg Impact Whey Protein: Strawberry Cream
5kg Impact Whey Protein: Chocolate Smooth
    5kg Impact Whey Protein: Banana

As I say, I'll probably use 2 of the above bags and the 2 friends will use 3 between them - if they keep at their training that is :D

I thought you would be trying the new flavours like toffee and mocha :D

Not sure if I'd use myprotein again. Not much difference in buying a 1kilo bag of flavoured whey with delivery compared to walking into a store and buying ON whey.

I would have tried those flavours but I was using their 'price beat' service and the new flavours weren't available on that!!!

Still can't believe that ordering 5 bags delivered to the North is about the same price as 3 delivered to the South.

I was on fitnessireland.ie and they have notice saying ON is going to have a price increase from tomorrow.

I wonder is it just them or across the brand

I agree, their is not much saving to be made from buying from Myprotein.

    I was looking at this
    http://cgi.ebay.ie/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=330368379852&ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT
Cost about €54 delivered for 5kg, its flavored + high protein + 33% casein in it.

I just got a 5kg bag with free delivery, 600gsm of creatine and a free shaker for €63 - I guess it works out about the same as these do. the advertising clearly works as I had no intention of buying anything till I went onto the site !

Probably best to grab it while you can.

There is lads on UK Muscle complaining about whey prices and one said he works in a small nutrition shop. He said Nutrisport 5kg wholesale price went from £38 to £51 so as soon as cheap stock is sold, the price will jump up.

Fonterra Looking for European Cheese-Whey Joint Venture By Darragh McCullough
Fonterra is in talks with 10 different European dairy processors with a view to a joint venture in cheese and whey production.
Letters of interest have already been signed with at least two of these, with Fonterra's European general manager, Koert Liekelema, refusing to rule out the possibility of the involvement of a British or Irish company.

"The global footprint of milk from New Zealand is actually going to shrink as we focus more on servicing Asia which is the fastest growing market in the world at the moment," said Mr Liekelema.

One third of all the milk that Fonterra currently processes is already sourced outside of New Zealand. However, the company now wants to access large volumes of extra milk around the world to cope with surging demand.

"The sooner we increase our milk pool to the point that 50pc of all our milk is sourced outside of New Zealand the better, because we are short of milk right now," said Mr Liekelema, who addressed a food and agribusiness event in Dublin last week.

"We're going to process local milk and our main focus is on countries with the most potential for expansion post quota in Europe."

The Fonterra boss said Ireland, Britain, Holland, Germany, France and Poland had the most scope to expand, but that Ireland had more potential than most.

"Ireland has the biggest leeway to expand," he said. "For example, Dutch dairy farmers are required to reduce carbon emissions over the coming years, which will hamper their scope for growth. We're interested in linking with a hard cheese manufacturer that has scale and is willing to invest.

"A hard cheese manufacturer would allow us to improve the seasonality of supply of cheese to our customers, while at the same time giving us access to high quality whey which we think is a fantastic product for the specialist proteins that we are finding a lot of demand for in sports drinks and confectionery. It would also allow us to pool our R&D expertise with our partners."

Michael Barry, of IBEC's dairy division, said the comments were a confirmation that the Irish dairy industry's targeted rise of 50pc was being taken seriously by the big players.

"The Irish industry would be a good fit for Fonterra due to the similarity of the type of products that we specialise in and the contrasting seasonality of both countries," Mr Barry said.

Ireland's biggest cheese manufacturers include Glanbia, Dairygold, Kerry and Carbury, along with the Irish Dairy Board, which converts large volumes of Irish milk into cheese in Britain.

Fonterra is 10 years in existence this year and processes 20bn litres of milk, roughly four times that of the entire Irish milk pool. Average herd size for Fonterra suppliers in New Zealand has grown to around 500 cows.

    Morning,

A mate of mine ordered XS Recovery from MyProtein a week and a half ago. Needless to say, he's not impressed (this is after adding water + mixing).

There are white clumps in the mix, even before you add any liquid. Once you add liquid, the white clumps remain and don't desolve.

He removed one of the clumps from the shake and it was dry and chalky, turning to dust when rubbed between his fingers.

Anyone have any similar issues with this?

Batch he ordered before was fine, using same shaker + amount of product.

I find recovery xs the hardest of my shakes to mix up. Just need to shake the crap out of it with the metal ball inside. I still get little lumps but doesn't bother me too much. Suppose he could try a blender?

I had issues with a bag of impact whey being terrible to mix and horrible taste (like literally gagging). There was theads on my myprotein forums about issues like this but having trouble getting on.

Here is a thread about it on Muscle Talk. Basically some supplier gave them a bad batch.

Dammit  - I only spent about 1 min looking for a discount code. I just saw loads of free stuff panicked and bought, very unlike me :o Anyway lesson learned ( probably not really)

I think their called flecks. They won't do you any harm but are very undesirable in dried dairy products as it makes them less soluble.

I had the same in Hurricane XS - it didn't bother me but I do remember someone commenting on what it was in the reviews of the product on myprotein ( maybe creatine ). In my case I misread the instructions and was doubling the dosage - it was incredibly sweet so I had at first presumed it was artificial sweetener which hadn't desolved.

It's across the brand - FSV and Universal Nutrition both have the same notice.

They're stating 'a worldwide increase in demand' as the reason for the price increase. Now admittedly, I am no economics genius but I thought if anything that would push the price downs lightly (supply/demand, no?)
