I have foul hooked a bass before - about an inch from the tail - its like trying to reel in a boat!

  • Registered Users Posts: 519 ✭✭✭viper123

Doubt even the most skilled angler could purposely foul hook a sea bass.
    Cracker of a fish

Who said anything about on purpose?! I've foul hooked many over the years as well, especially with multi hook plugs given the way that they hit it side on.

Ya took me up wrong on my post mate.
I foul hooked a monster of a mullet while using feathers for Macks and hooked it in the tail and it pulled the arm off me.
Some scrap off them and unfortunately was the only mullet I ever hooked :(

She actually took the top treble when hitting the lure, but threw it after landing her. the bottom treble was lightly through the gill plate. The fish swam away healthy.

Yep, Likely something chasing and feeding on them and driving the shoals to the surface, attracting the gulls, and to the edge where they would be washed up...

How did it fish popsy? I imagine the water was high but not too cold given the weather of late?

Surprisingly very good I had over a dozen fish and my friend the same

He was using a full sink line while i was using my switch with a 5ft fast sink polyleader and both had same results

Some good quality trout and freshly stocked with browns about 2-3lb that gave a very good account for themselves

Living away from home can be tough, especially when you miss the fishing!
Was home last July and caught this lad on a very hard day on Muckno.

Really miss the Pike fishing and always get into a few days when I make it home. Not the biggest pike, but still great to get into one.

On the other hand, living aboard can have its angling advantages.

Second fish of day, first was smashed off by a tiger shark. Ended up passing through a school of about 50 dolphins chasing flying fish that day too, never seen anything like it before!

Nice fish, looks like a Morwong.
    Did you measure/weigh it? It's a decent size ;)

It is a Morwong. I think they call them Queenies/Queen Snapper here.
I didnt get a weight or lenght. Was told it was a decent size alright. Cheers!
