Wow! Thanks, I was actually going to include legally or edibly in my post.

I presume that doesn't count for saltwater eels?

I thought we export a lot of freshwater eels to France, no?

I put in a good few hours this week for this fish , bit of a shame I couldn't get a proper pic until I was home it looked a lot better on the bank a real deep fish never weighted it

, praying that the rain forecast tonight will fall in the upper catchment and get a few fish moving again

Thats not a Rudd. I would say its a Roach. Hydrid possibly. Most likely a Roach but its not a Rudd. A lovely Roach too.

I find it very hard to tell the difference at the best of times, he had pure blood red fins and even though the picture doesn't show it he was very dark on top and very golden on the mid section and bottom. That's the only reason I thought rudd

Not sure, don't use scales but it was my first thought too. He can't have been far off it anyway. A beauty. Had a fairly fresh pike wound on his other flank too so he's been in the wars.

I would guess its over a pound but less than a pound and a half. Hard to tell not knowing the OPs hand size but I would be surprised if it went two pounds.

The lips are wrong for Rudd as is the position of the dorsal fin. The scale count suggests Roach too, possibly hybrid (not true F1 Roach x Bream though) but not Rudd.

I would say Roach. Also if its from the same place that you removed from your first post then there are few if any true Rudd there.

    how do u upload pics..thanks

If you upload them to a photo hosting site such as Photobucket you can then click the yellow 'insert image' icon just above the text box when posting your message. Insert the link there and it will embed it in your post. Alternatively you can upload it directly to boards by attaching it with the paperclip icon when posting.
