What an absolute epic! I have it on DVD and it came on 2 discs ha! Its a shame it wasn't on earlier as i would definitely have watched it but unless you are unemployed or on holidays there's no point staying up for this one! To those lucky enough not to have to get up definitely give this a watch though! Philip Seymor Hoffman is on top form in this! Great soundtrack too!

    ...just great ha :)

On Saturday, BBC2 is showing two movies in a row starring Alec Guinness:
    - 13:15: Kind Hearts and Coronets. A young man, whose mother was shunned by her aristocratic family, decides to pursue the family title by murdering all eight living members of that family. All of which are played by Guinness. A gleefully nasty film.
    - 14:55: The Man in the White Suit - which I haven't seen yet, but I've heard good things about it.

From out there on the moon, international politics look so petty. You want to grab a politician by the scruff of the neck and drag him a quarter of a million miles out and say, ‘Look at that, you son of a bitch’.

    — Edgar Mitchell, Apollo 14 Astronaut

I found Man in the White Suit a bit wishy washy to be honest. Not something Kind Hearts suffers from! :)

The Shinjuku Incident is on Film4 next Sunday. Worth a look to see Jackie Chan in a more "straight" role than usual. Also gives a look at the immigrant scene in modern Japan and how JC rises from newcomer at the bottom of society to forming a triad.

A screening of the almost "lost" Dario Argento 1980 film Inferno on Film Four next Saturday night 12.15 am. The film was buried at the time by its distributor 20th century Fox hardly being seen outside of Italy and then dumped to video. Its TV showings have been equally rare.
