    If you're not going to watch the horse racing, try Escape To Victory on UTV at 2:25PM: a bunch of Allied POWs during WW2 plan their escape by agreeing to a soccer match against the German national team. Michael Caine, Sylvester Stallone, Max von Sydow, plus a bunch of real soccer players including Pelé, Ossie Ardiles, and Bobby Moore. If you ever wondered how Rocky would perform in goal against the Germans, this is your chance. :p

    BBC2, 9:45PM: Coriolanus. Ralph Fiennes directs and stars in this Shakespeare adaptation, playing the title character as a cross between Stormin' Norman Schwarzkopf and Gunnery Sgt. Hartman from Full Metal Jacket. I saw this in the cinema when it came out, surprisingly accessible to someone who'd never read the play before. Coriolanus is an excellent wartime general, but completely out of his depth in the political world of peacetime. Other politicians try to use him to their advantage, including his own mother Volumnia (Vanessa Redgrave) and Menenius (Brian Cox). He finds he has more in common with his mortal enemy, Aufidius (Gerard Butler), and, well ... it's a Tragedy, after all.
