electric r/c truck

i was thinking of getting an r/c monster truck for messing around in the back garden and was wondering if any body had info or recomendations for any.Im thinking about electric as it is less expensive than nitro. I would also like it to be in kit form if possible but not necessary

i have seen a video of a drifter (tho quite tallented at it) dirft his way threw a race like yours :P he was well able to control himself away when needed be:v:

i have charged the battery over night and there does'nt seem to be any life in it at all. so it looks like ill need a new battery at least.the old one is a tamiya ni-cad 7.2v 1200mAh racing pack would i need to get the same one or does it matter

any one of them or do i have to look for a certain size mAh.the bigger this is the more power the battery has (am i right)

Yup,
any of the stick pack 6 cell ones will do.
and yes. Normally bigger capacity gives longer runtime.

Which one did you order in the end ?

If you ordered from Modelsport then they are normally quite good with their delivery times. I have had stuff from them in 3 days.
Then again some stuff took a week or more, I think it depends on stock levels.

it seems to be working ok for me so far but the remote control is working inverted if i push forward it reverses if i pull back it goes forward and the same with the steering does anyone know what might be wrong and how to fix it .thanks

On the handset there are more than likely two little switches.
Marked. (N) & (R)
flick the one on the throttle side and that should sort it for you.

thanks vectra i think that has solved the problem. i still havent got a good run with it ye t but i hope to in the next couple of days. that rc car action magazine ther eis an article about changing the motor and it has me thinking:rolleyes:

Be careful...!!

Make sore that your seppd controller can handle motors lower than 27 turn .;)

Or you may see an unexpected cloud of smoke :eek:

3 of us here all have that buggy under a differnt name (carson stormracer/smartech speedy winner and now this ;-/ all in all i dont think its the best any more, the tank on mine has broken from going up those small curbs (at driveways to houses) even at a very slow speed, the engine caused many a problemo and overall it aint the great tho it works and with is either a engine upgrade or a lie the engine is pretty good
