You DO have to specifically invite people by email. If your friends claim otherwise its because they're idiots.

I think a main part of it is basically it's an online contact book...you have your friends all contact details as opposed ot just a telephone number with a phonebook...telephone,mobile,address,e-mail...

Are you a member of www.eurobilltracker.com aswell???? I like this site. Sort of strangely addictive.

well I check out what photos my friends took last saturday and I copy the ones I like.
All most everyone I play frisbee with has the photos I took in scothland at holloween on their profile.

also Ive found friends through friends that I havent seen in years.

and Ive actually leanred a good bit about ppl in my course who I never rally hung round with but I have a much higher opinion of them now.

    Its a fun site.
You DO have control over who you invite.
You CAN email ppl without giving them your email passwords, do it manually.
Changes notification in an option in YOUR preferences. Turn it off if you want

I joined myspace there a few months ago because my brother had moved to the states and it was a good way for us to keep contact! Otherwise I didn't have much use for it! It got really annoying actually after a while I kept getting emails for every message received or an email when someone wanted to be my friend!! But it's like everyone just clicks on everyone and asks them to be their friend! People have 100's of friends on their lists and haven't even said hi to anyone!!
Oh and then there were the messages from the dirty old men!!! Ugh!! I just found the whole site pointless really.... I've never tried Bebo!! I'd love to actually understand the whole thing though!! :)

everything can be enabled/disabled in the accounts control panel. i used to get 40-50 invites a day of people till i disabled some of the options. then disabling invites from bands helps too.

Myspace kicks ass, never thought i would say that but it does.

I joined it recently. All I know is I use it for photo sharing with mates...... or else I'd be waiting 3 months to look at party/holiday foties.....

My friends of friends of friends of friends profiles are hilarious/upsetting .... 16 year old girls showing themselves in their undercrackers as their primary photo and pictures of their kids in the albums

I concur, find it horribly boring. Why would you want to share all your likes interests with people you will probably never meet in person.

I only have friends on bebo who I've met in person.

It's a pretty good service considering it's free. The emails that it sends to the users are pretty annoying alright, I keep on getting one with "Ch-ch-changes" in the subject line and it puts the David Bowie song in my head every time I see it.

*Great! The damn song's in my head now

Damnit you put the damn song in my head now aaaarrrggghhh......

Ok, then whats the point of it all? If you no these people in person then you no each other likes and dislikes ect...

Bebo is the bomb, its basically myspace without the ugly goths and the embedded browser crashing videos. Nobody adds randomers either, its really cool being able to see who your friends are friends with and who their friends are friends with etc. Get to see all kind of random connections. Plus photos and drawing random abusive drawings on whiteboard.

Thats what puts me off joining bebo, would rather not have people knowing who I know.

ok wel i just signed up to bebo cus dats what my mates use but i gotta say comparing it to myspace.com is like comparing a campfire to a microwave or a phone box to a mobile! its stuck in middle ages!
you cant personalise it or put your music or videos up - unless i just cant do it? and those bloody emails get sent to me all the bloody time by my friends!
    anyone agree?

Chain emails are the work of Satan himself, they clog up your inbox, and they are about as useful as cold vegetable soup. I got one about a clown who goes around turning off lights and pretending to be a statue etc for babysitters. Apparently if you don't forward them on the clown will come after YOU! yes YOU!
People, presumably believing this is gospel truth, systematically forward each chain mail they receive to avoid the various curses that may be put on them. Who are these nonces who believe that their crush will ask them out in 53 minutes if they forward their email to over 786 people in 15 minutes???

Sorry you are wrong, bebo is useless. You can't actually do anything with it except comments and it hardly connects friends as you see most of your contacts everyday anyway and the other ones you don't want to see.
