Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Sorry don't mean to hijack the thread but how do you go about disabling region lock on Revolut?

In the app, hit cards, then security

Have you money in the account to cover the first month?

My card was decline first, topped it up by 10 euro and then got the error "There appears to be a problem with the payment method you are trying to use."

Has anyone set up an account today? I still haven't managed to. Do they charge the Revolut card in Euro or USD?

I had 30mxn taken out when I set up and then returned.

    Strange.

I initially set my self up on my Irish debit card (no problem) got 3 lads off here to chip in (3 x 27€ plus mine) transferred all funds to my revolut card.

Changed payment method from debit card to my revolut card.

    I had zero bother.

I just signed up for the 4k premium option using Revolut on an account that was cancelled as of yesterday an it worked fine.

I used Colombia as it costs E8.23 vs Mexico at E8.96 (todays prices on Xe.com).

    Thanks again to the OP.

Yeah I done the same, I let the IRL account just go to close, then restarted it using the VPN for Mexico, no issues.

I just used my existing CyberGhost VPN to sign up in Canada, there was no Mexico server option and I don't trust the web based proxies for credit card details.

Still, the 4 screen HD pack is only €9.46 in Canada.

Pair with Revoult, a free month (-9.46) and 11 months (104.06) = €94.60 for the year. If I let the Irish subscription run on it would have been €167.88 for the year, so a massive saving of €73.28 for the year!

I didnt even need a new email address, with Gmail if you put a full stop anywhere in the email it delivers to the original inbox!

Thanks OP, I owe you a pint!

@Kencollins - I'm stupid about these kinds of things so would love if you'd talk me thru' this.

I have Hola already so that should do instead of your CyberGhost?
Also, I have a Revolut card so can use that.
Where does the free month come from?

    Thanks.

I haven't, accidentally used same email and they took money straight away. Also, I think if you use same card they do it. So you need new email and new card.

P.S. or I think I used the same email, it was registered ok and didn't complain this email already exists.

Yeah, it needs to be a new email address and a new payment method. Thankfully in my case, I recently swapped my original Revolut card for a new free contactless one,(another bargain from bargain alerts) so Ive a new card number now also.

Cheers for this. Mexican prices are more in line with my wallet these days.

I used Tunnelbear, put a . in my gmail address and used a new debit card to sign up. Got a free month and it should cost me around 7 euros for 2 HD screens going forward. Will switch to Revolut as payment method if the currency charges are massive but I probably won't need to.

Tip : Don't login into Gmail when you're using Tunnelbear for the sign-up as Google may think your account has been compromised and send you alerts accordingly.

Mexico upping prices end of year to mx199 about €9 so from 30th December

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 762 ✭✭✭Terminator

Do you have a link for that price increase? The amount I've signed up for is mx149 and there is no mention of a price increase.

For which tier? My current price is mx199 for the 4k package

  • Registered Users Posts: 215 ✭✭jvrk

I got an email today I was paying 159 for 4k plan for the last year.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 762 ✭✭✭Terminator

Oh that's the old price for the 4k package - looks like you had a good deal.

I signed up for 2 x HD streams which is mx149 / 7 euros per month.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,743 ✭✭✭podge3

Colombia was slightly cheaper than Mexico when I signed up a few weeks back. Dunno if it's going up, I got no notification about it.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,989 ✭✭✭0ph0rce0

I signed up on the mexican site.

Got charged 6.99 for the free month.

And in the email which is in Spanish it says EUR/10.99 going forward.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 6,534 ✭✭✭EagererBeaver

Huh? You got charged 6.99 for the free month?

If you signed up on Mexico, you'd be getting charged pesos. How come you're getting charged convenient .99 euro figures.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,989 ✭✭✭0ph0rce0

The money actually never came off the card my bad. Free month in the bag haha

When I signed up it said $149 MXN

When I got my confirmation mail it says EUR/10.99

Did anyone else's confirmation mail say 10.99 in euros or the MXN price?

When you go to the Mexican site using your VPN and go to Billing Info or Change plans do you still see the MXN price. All I see is euros.

    See pic
