Hi guys. Anyone know why The Witcher 3 isn't available on European eshop yet? Checked the last two nights and isn't available..

  • Registered Users Posts: 887 ✭✭✭morritty

You can get it from the UK eshop.

  • Moderators, Computer Games Moderators Posts: 10,102 Mod ✭✭✭✭Andrew76

Also on the SA shop if that’s any use.

Witcher 3 is available in all European shops except for Irish and Polish.
You can check it via dekudeals.com

On the other hand, digital version doesn't have Polish language included. Box version sold in UK (and Ireland) doesn't have it as well. Seems that only box version sold in Poland has Polish language (voice and text) available, which is weird as it's a game made originally by Polish studio CDPR and Polish voiceover is superior to other languages.

    Speaking of Witcher 3.

Witcher 3 can hit 60fps on Nintendo Switch | MVG

    https://youtube.com/watch?v=ZFV0S8C2z3o

Interesting speculation in the latter half of the video about what may happen with existing games like this when the inevitable Switch Pro turns up at a future date.

    On a modded Nintendo switch.

True. But that's to allow it access to a PC patch, fiddle around with settings and overclock the Switch. It's nothing outside of what a regular Switch could do I think if the game developers allowed more options. And Nintendo themselves overclocked the Switch in system update 8.0.0. Now I don't know if the overclocking with this mod would be pushing the Switch too close to its limit, thereby maybe burning it out early.

Yeah that's what would worry me - overclocking it (or any console for that matter) and shortening it's lifespan. Anyway, it's still mighty impressive they were able to get it up an running on the Switch and presumably other developers will give more serious thought to porting other big games over if they weren't already.

Anyone else getting weird glitches with The Witcher 3?

Not very far in, but so far

    1) Glitch where during tutorial, Vesemir wouldn’t drop shield, and no buttons responded. Persisted after save reload, have to revert to earlier save, and skip tutorial.

    2) Gwent tutorial. X button wouldn’t respond, couldn’t pass on turn, so had to play all cards, ended up losing.

    3) One of the first quests, where you have to find a missing brother, the brother won’t show up at the way point, even after waiting for 5 mins normal game time, and meditating through to various times of day.

    It’s been rough so far

Only once where on the final horse race instead of jumping the log I dismounted, arsed about remounted, slow walked in dismay to the finish to be crowned winner...

Other than that not noticed anything odd and have about 10 hours in now

I got the third one while playing on the one x. Surprised they didn't sort that for the switch.

I got the first two of those. First one slightly different but basically the same issues. Haven't reached the third part yet so will see. A bit frustrating alright. Thought i was doing something wrong at first.

The third eventually resolved itself. The game makes the NPC run to the spot, rather than spawn - maybe he got stuck along the way, but eventually got there - I left the game on while I was feeding the baby, so not sure how long it actually took. You could probably just stick with the NPC rather than running ahead to the marker to avoid it.

I got most of White Orchard done now, and no issues in the couple of hours past issue 3.

If thats the mission I'm thinking of your meant to follow him because he runs through a forest and there's wolves around. If you don't kill them he'll stay there for ages fighting them.

Possibly. The objective is “Meet Dune at the point”, not “Escort Dune to the point” - you’d imagine, they’re just teleport him or something. Anyways, it’s avoidable clearly, just not very clear. The other two issues are more concerning though. I’ve not played Gwent so hopefully it’s not recurring

Is he looking for his brother or something like that? It's ages since I played Witcher 3.

Need to wait, according to Eurogamer:
Switch players can still get it for free by pre-ordering Doom Eternal however, you just won't be able to play either until Eternal arrives on the platform at a later date (which is yet to be announced).

Disney Classics: Aladdin & Lion King is listed in the eshop coming soon section, to be released on Oct 29... for €34.99!!! It's a good package, but that price is absolutely crazy. I honestly thought it would be €14.99 tops.

They are selling physical editions of them on all consoles so that was never going to be the price

Didn't know that, I almost never buy physical these days. Would have liked to pick this up, but will wait for a huge price drop before I do so.

Yup, crazy price, it's going to be a sale purchase for sure, as I wouldn't mind replaying them.

I have the original carts for my Megadrive, so not bothered buying these again.
That said, I have the Thunderforce games as well on cart, but I jumped upon TFIV when it arrived on Switch...
I suppose I'm just not as in love with these games as others...
