Are Whittle and Osbourne not in the mix? Or Coyne?

i'd be surprised if they were in the 6 nations squad.

might be "in the mix" but so are a lot of players.

depends on injuries in the end, but i'd say there is quite a few non leinster lads ahead of them.

Leinster lads who probably will be involved in squad if healthy:

    Andrew Porter(UCD)
    James Ryan(Lansdowne)
    Max Deegan(Lansdowne)
    Will Connors(UCD)
    Conor O'Brien(Clontarf)
    Jack Power(UCD)
    Hugo Keenan(UCD)
    Matthew Byrne(Terenure)

I would have thought Aspil and Kean would be in the squad.

possibly but wouldn't say they are sure things.

I listed the 4 best leinster forwards and the 4 best backs.

it will be interesting to see if Coyle makes the irish squad, he was behind three other TH's last year for Ireland u19.

Interestly enough after not making Ireland 19s Coyle was the only Leinster prop that was named to start every game in the u20s interprovincial games .

He was clearly the best leinster tighthead at u20.. but with Andrew Porter being held out of the interpros it gave Bollard/Vakh A a chance they might not have gotten at LH.

Porter is clearly the best leinster prop at u20 and a certain starter for Ireland he would have started all 3 interpros if he was available.

Coyle has a battle to be backup TH with Ben Betts and Conor Kenny who were both ahead of him last season for ireland u19. It will be interesting to see if he can make it after not being able to last season.

Unfortunately Vakh doesn't seem to have progressed well since u19 . Be interesting to see if he is even in the mix this year.

Interesting to see Harrison Brewer still being used at that level. Doesn't bode well for him.

Wouldn't read too much into him playing a one off game like this.

Ireland won comfortably. Wonder if Munster side they'll face will be stronger than that Leinster side...

Looking at the Leinster Team there is no one else there of his age... Seems odd. Really doesn't appear to be making any impact at all

He's only a year older than the players playing 20s so I wouldn't read into it. You will likely see plenty of his age and more playing in the Munster game
It doesn't say much that his future is x....

John Poland has to be one of the most built SH's we've seen in a while, especially at this age group.

Poland was on the bench with Munster. Johnston played for Ireland but left the field injured unfortunately.

Nice enough mix off all provinces and some exiles. Nice number of players whove came through clubs(youths) as well in O Brien, Kenny, O Leary, Gallagher, Reilly, McBurney, Coyle, Claffey, Cosgrove.

Any reason Dan Trayers hasn't been involved at all, hes a player that would be useful against the bigger teams like England, wales and france in the 6 nations. Just looking at the forwards being used in these squads and bar Porter and Ryan there doesn't seem to be any forwards who will likely be able to mix it up with the larger packs and I know Conan will be filtered in but even so it looks like this team are going to have similar difficulties just like last years team and maybe even have a harder time up front

Trayers quit playing rugby during the summer.

Ireland are always going to struggle up front at this level bar the odd exceptionally sized player. Need to rely on skill level like all Irish teams.

Max Deegan would probably have been ahead of him anyway but a pity to see him give it up in the right structure he could have developed nicely. Academies & sub academies overflowing with back rows at the moment after a few lean years 5 or 6 years ago
