Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. Chastain, Suarez, McDowell, Buescher, Reddick, Bell and the dark horse Gibbs. Gibbs has three road course wins in a season and a half in Xfinity. He held off Larson in one and the Dinger in another.

I would'nt be getting too excited about the 2 ex F1 lads,COTA represents their best hope of victory, but the "good ole boys" have certainly upped their game on the twisties in the past decade.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 38,966 ✭✭✭✭eagle eye

Yeah F1 drivers don't have an advantage at COTA. They have a better chance because they have experience of road courses but they are driving a stock car instead of an open wheel which is a whole lot different.

trackhouse hasnt been going as good this year so i wouldnt consider them as favourites , Gibbs would need to step up on that xfinity 2 horse race where passing out was very tough , bowman may be another outside option . bell has been fast everywhere so should go well

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 38,966 ✭✭✭✭eagle eye

Gibbs had to pass Larson and Allmendinger to win both of those races.

It's definitely different though and much tougher. Allmendinger is the best of them in my opinion, he never has the best car but still does it. I'd love to see him in a Hendricks to see what he'd do.

Dinger n chastain are in the xfinity , bush and bowman in the trucks

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 38,966 ✭✭✭✭eagle eye

Bowman also in the trucks and Gibbs in the Xfinity.

My pick for Sunday is Reddick.

There is no green and white chequer for the stages and the race runs green. Interesting race rule on the road course. Will they run this rule in the cup tomorrow?

I think it's for all road course races.

I like it because it was making a mess of the stages where if you tried to win the stage you had no hope of winning the race as bunches of cars came in with three laps to go. There's no danger of losing a lap on a pit stop.

This changes things completely and you really have to get the strategy right. Kyle Busch got it wrong in the truck race tonight and it cost him big, Zane Smith got it right and won.

have it on fox app . interesting race dont linke the no stage breaks much - 11/1 dinger too big so had a few quid on him

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 5,686 ✭✭✭Charlie-Bravo

Dinger progressing well. Gas to hear Guenther reviewing lap times. It's not something you tend to hear on NASCAR.

I think Byron might win this one.

Reddick won it. I got it right.

why did u predick him , he hadnt been doing much

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 38,966 ✭✭✭✭eagle eye

He's been good on road courses, was close to winning that race last year.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,383 ✭✭✭easygoing39

The 2 ex F1 lads were rubbish in my opinion, running outside the top 20 on a track that gives them the best chance of doing well is terrible.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 38,966 ✭✭✭✭eagle eye

They are driving stock cars, it's completely different to F1. The tracks are bumpy, you leave the track and drive over big rumblestrips. There's no dfs for overtaking and you don't get stuck behind slower cars for as long in F1. You don't get knocked around in F1 either.

there showing some of the main race on viasports xtra now - the Picture quality is terrible compated to the fox one i watched the other night

I'll pick Kyle Busch tomorrow, he's got five wins at Richmond and 16 short track wins, next is Denny Hamlin on 10 and then Brad Keselowski on 7.

He's got a good car and starts second.

  • Moderators, Sports Moderators Posts: 5,713 Mod ✭✭✭✭Nowso

the way Byron is going its hard to rule him out of winning anything

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 5,686 ✭✭✭Charlie-Bravo

Huge flip with barrel role by Perkins in Xfinity race this evening.

tjere was a lot of carnage in the race these xfinity races are not very enjoyable due to the amount of crashs

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 5,686 ✭✭✭Charlie-Bravo

So far so good in this Talladega race. Very orderly racing. I reckon it'll get proper dicey before the end of stage 1.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 5,686 ✭✭✭Charlie-Bravo

Ha Reddick, some move to get down and then spinning it. Luckily can keep going.

Edit: now Briscoe spins entering pit road. Yellow is out.

    Now the fun begins.

It's about to get crazy now. I've no clue whose even going to contend for the win.

I thought Austin Hill might contend but he's been out the back all day.

not been a great race and all hell will brake loose near the end , these superspeedways are not great - had a few quid on bell as anyone could win it

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 5,686 ✭✭✭Charlie-Bravo

Joey made a bit of a rookie move there to try and block the third row run. Race ruined. The restarts are going to be messy.

    sick of super speedways atm

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 5,686 ✭✭✭Charlie-Bravo

These restarts are crazy. Didn't take much to wreck a good few of them.

Delighted for Martin Truex to end his winless streak. I hope Harvick can do it too before he retires.

I used to like Chastain but he's doing that crap to other drivers too often.. He was responsible for ruining Larson's day by making a ridiculous, aggressive move on Brennan Poole. He came across the radio afterwards saying he didn't mean it but it was clear he did.

It's time NASCAR started penalising him for these moves.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 5,686 ✭✭✭Charlie-Bravo

The FS team played the hilarious 'thanks Ross' clip after that. Shame for Larson and Poole. NASCAR need to penaliZe these moves!

    Hamlin a good winner

    Chastain the Big looser again

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 38,966 ✭✭✭✭eagle eye

Crazy race, would have loved if Byron had won it coming from two laps down.

Byron and Truex unlucky taking the gamble on having a fresh set of stickers and it goes green the whole way to the end after all the cautions.

the xfinity at darlington was a good watch , how many mistakes does Kyle Larsson keep making - lucky to get back up

  • Moderators, Sports Moderators Posts: 5,713 Mod ✭✭✭✭Nowso

Byron Making the best of carnage caused again by Chastain - its getting just stupid with Chastain at this stage

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 38,966 ✭✭✭✭eagle eye

I'm delighted Chastain got taken out, love the way Larson kept driving.

Did you see the restart where he went before Larson despite being the second car? I don't know why Nascar didn't penalise him for that.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 4,709 ✭✭✭Infoanon

I think Chastain made use of the flag waver rule , Larson was holding back and in that situation once the start line flag is waved Chastain can pass Larson.

Another pit lane penalty for Kyle Busch,

Carl Edwards making it very clear that he will make a comeback if he is still competitive, Carl suggesting that a few runs in s simulator will allow him to determine his competiveness.

    #10 SHR needs a driver for '24

  • Moderators, Sports Moderators Posts: 5,713 Mod ✭✭✭✭Nowso

enjoyed Larrson winning the trucks done it simple and cut out his usual mistakes . Chastain seen him coming in much newer tyers and got himself out of the way lol

Surely the track should have layed a bit better to come back on nascar after 26 year

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 38,966 ✭✭✭✭eagle eye

And Larson won the All-Star race too, his third win in the last five.

  • Moderators, Sports Moderators Posts: 5,713 Mod ✭✭✭✭Nowso

He is the fastest by a long way - they even managed to mess up the starting strategy go back to near the back and come through to win easy

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 38,966 ✭✭✭✭eagle eye

And he deserved it after what he did to Chastain the week before. 😁

  • Moderators, Sports Moderators Posts: 5,713 Mod ✭✭✭✭Nowso

Cup race on fox at 8 and stage 2 and 3 of xfinity on fs2 after that - weather permitting

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 38,966 ✭✭✭✭eagle eye

I'd never have picked Blaney to win that. He's done very little all year and then turns up in one of the big races of the year.

    Bell was very unlucky.
