That's fantastic by Highfield. Terenure's 2019 form on a stand alone calendar year has probably been best in all 1A

Good start by Barnhall in 2A, they went last year unbeaten didn't they?

Isn't there a mini break after this weekend, we should have a better handle on who is going well where etc.

LFC always find it hard in Limerick! Big wins for UCC, Con and UCD, and just incredible from Garryowen. Also, a special mention for Highfield, does anyone think they can make it to 1A? Would be a real shock.
highfield might. They've very good pack of forwards and some decent backs.

And have one of strongest underage ser ups in province

yeah they went unbeaten in 2B. Their partnership with maynooth university really paying off so combined with strong underage set up they're doing well.
Yeah week off after this weekends games then 3 more games a week off and final 3 games before Christmas

    TONIGHT

    1A
CLONTARF v TERENURE - Tasty fixture - I think Terenure might sneak it

    SATURDAY
    1A

BALLYNAHINCH V UCD - Big improvement from UCD last week and think their form will see them through

DUBLIN UNIVERSITY V GARRYOWEN - Trinity need to get going and I think they will do that

YOUNG MUNSTER V U.C.C. - League leaders UCC with a real test of their title credentials in a tough venue - Young Munster

CORK CONSTITUTION V LANSDOWNE - Not the happiest hunting ground for us, hoping we can improve on last week

    1B

CITY OF ARMAGH V OLD BELVEDERE - 2 of the form teams so far in 1B. Think home advantage will tell

HIGHFIELD V NAAS - Highfield will have too much for Naas up front

SHANNON V NAVAN - Navan will be desperate to get a win and think that could be the difference

MALONE V BANBRIDGE - Seems to be a lot of change in Malone, they need to settle soon. Fancy Banbridge

OLD WESLEY V ST MARY'S - Expect Old Wesley's good early form to continue with a win here

    1A

Garryowen v Ballynahinch - Garryowen to win well

Lansdowne v Dublin University - We need a win - lost to Trinity earlier in the season in the Leinster League

Terenure College v Cork Constitution - Terenure energy will win this

UCC v Clontarf - Tarf to sneak through

UCD v Young Munster - UCD to keep winning

    1B

Naas v Malone - Naas to break their duck

Navan v City Of Armagh - Armagh to win well

Banbridge v Shannon - Shannon to win on the road

UCC are in good form, it'll be a big win for us if we can grab 4 points away from home against them. Not had the best start scraping past YM then losing back to back against Terenure and Cork Con.

Big win for trinity. Only saw end of first and then the second half
13-11 with late drop goal to get the win.
Lansdowne didn't score after 25th minute or so

Big win for Clontarf down in UCC, finished up 27-20

Con going to Lakelands and beating Terenure as well.

Wide open now with UCC and Lansdowne both losing to Tarf and Trinity.

What a league. Some great rugby played in dire conditions across the country. Hinch in big trouble already. Good result for YM coming up and getting 2 points in Belfield but they need to pick up more points and quick.

Highfield again, would love to see them in 1A. What a rise through the ranks.

  • Registered Users Posts: 2,815 ✭✭✭D14Rugby

Ref may as well have worn a Con jersey today in Lakelands he was absolutely brutal.

Weather completely suited Con and Sean French kicked a brilliant penalty 5 from the end to win it for them. Not a game for running rugby we all really want to see but was enthralling to watch.

great thing about Highfield is so many players are homengrown having came through their minis and then youths set up
Even James Cronin. From ballincollig and moved to them for 18s and won a Munster and all Ireland in the process
A lot of clubs should look to emulate a lot of what they do. Really good pack with timmy Ryan doing well with their pac

Have to say & don't like saying but the standard of refereeing at 1a & 1b levels I have watched matches at this season is well below standard expected. Some don't even know the rules at AIL level. Seems to worse this year than previous. Scrums are a lottery no one knows what the ref is going to call and offside is rarely policed. Their positioning is shocking often in the way they don't know where to stand. Have watched 3 1a & 2 1b games and only 2 refs were of expected standard and resulted in 2 good flowing games which does the club game no favours at all and puts me off going to games

The frustrating thing is, some of the officials are refs who have refereed at international level and they still struggle with 1A. Makes no sense, if an international referee turns up to do a 1A game, you expect the best officiating, it's laughable.

Haven't heard of any games being called off today which is a pleasant surprise. Closest I've heard is Malone Mary's was moved to the back pitch up in Malone.

What on Earth happened to Lansdowne?

Clontarf now 0 for 3 at home after losing to UCD, and Con battling from behind to win again this time against Trinity.

It’s going to be such a good league this year.

I’m a Lansdowne supporter and I’m worried at our start to the season....

We've been brutal at home, but we're within seconds of winning today if it wasn't for Patterson scoring in the last play of the game.

It's been a cracking league so far I have to say, aside from Con it's probably been the most competitive it has been in years.

What's happening at Lansdowne. I was expecting them to be serious challengers. Mind you, I think that it is great that it is so competitive.

A mumps outbreak in one of the teams caused Wesley Navan game to be called off
