Right lads. Just to let you know, we have 2 managers from last year, "Machete" and "The Southern Dandies" who are definitely out. Still waiting for "Henry le Cheat" to come back to me. He was active last year, so hopeful he will sign up again.

If we do get to 10, will we run with 10 or open up the above two teams to an additional 2 owners to keep the league at 12?

Hey Guys, I signed up a few days ago. I was away for the last 2 weeks and didnt have much net access but my team is now there

Re adding cats I like adding holds for pitching. For batting I suggest OPS which is on base percentage and slugging. We can always throw up a poll.

Im cool with 10 aswell. Are we gonna add extra roster spots? The free agent pool will be much shallower with only 10 teams.

This date is fine for picking the keepers but I just noticed that the draft is set for March 30th which is after the 2 games in Japan. Complete Games / Quality Starts / Losses / Shutouts / Holds / Ks per 9 / Ks per Walk ratio

Roster Make Up:
Set at 1IF / 2 UTIL. Do we add a Corner Infielder or Middle Infielder or another outfielder. Roster size set at 5 bench. Increase to 7 with smaller league size?

If we can finalise these, then I can set these before Keeper date of 25th March.

Here are my thoughts...

Draft Date:
Sunday, 25th, Monday 26th or Tuesday 27th.
I can do any 3 nights from 9 pm on. I think keeper league 2.0 is going to be set for Mon 26th according to the threads here. I havn't set a date for the non-keeper league yet so Sun 25th is free

Max Aquisitions:
6 now. Do we need to increase?
With less teams I was thinking increase aswell. My initial reasoning for 6 keepers was to put more talent back in the draft pool but with 2 teams been dissolved there is less of a need. I would go for 8 with the current roster size.

Min Innings pitched:
Set at 7. Do we need to increase?
Yea, I guess there is no harm increasing. Think I was passing 50 innings pitched most gameweeks last season. Increasing to 25 innings is fine by me.

Batters Catagories:
OBP / OPS / Hits / Walks

Pitcher Catagories:
Complete Games / Quality Starts / Losses / Shutouts / Holds / Ks per 9 / Ks per Walk ratio
Of the above, Holds as all players who dominate that stat will be available in the draft.

If we go for holds as the pitching stat I would add a pitcher position, we can probably add this anyway. In the fielding positions I would remove the 1IF and add 1CIF and 1MIF. Then maybe increase the bench size to 6 and add another DL position.

Draft date: The Sunday is definitely the best date for me of the three.

Roster: If we have fewer players/teams it's probably good to expand the roster size. Exactly how we do that I don't have an opinion on.

Categories: Again, don't really have a strong opinion on this, though if we're going to add any, I think only add one for pitchers and one for hitters. There's no need to change things too much.

Batters Categories: OBP

Pitcher Categories: K/BB

Right here goes:

Draft Date: Sunday 25th of March at 9PM

Kepper Date: Saturday 24th

Added OBP for Batters and Holds for Pitchers to make it a 6x6 league.

Increased weekly aquisitions to 10 and min. innings pitched to 25.

I decided to lave the rest of the rosters as is.

Will/can the draft work that whoever finished last last year gets first pick and the overall winner last year picks last? And then move forward like that?

Also where did we fall on keepers? It was 6 but then I thought it increased to 8, now it seems to be 6 again. Can we not just meet in the middle and have 7 or something?

The draft setting for the keeper league is a live standard draft so my take on this is that we pick 6 keepers each and then start the draft with the remaining players with managers taking turns drafting players in a fixed back-and-forth snake format.

Ok, from the suggestion by 8-10, I have decided to alter the draft slightly.
I have set the draft order in reverse order to last years finishing positions.
So the draft order will be as follows:
Tolka Drakes
Golden Nuggets
Artful Dodgers
HotBalls
Seattle Seamonkeys
Judean Peoples Front
Homer's Homers
K Kings
Albuquerque Isotopes
Henry Le Cheat III

As a Keeper League, it makes more sense to set the draft order this way. It is still a snake draft, so Tolka will have pick 1 & 20 etc.

It was set for the 24th. As far I know it is midnight tonight. Will check it later when at home.

Yeah, deadline has passed. But PM me the 6 players and I can set these manually.

Right lads. Keepers set and available Player List now shows who we can draft. Remember I have set the draft order in reverse of last years final standings.

Yes, I'm seeing 1 hour 15 mins until the start of the draft. My team needs are obvious, pitching, as all my keepers are batters...

I'm pretty happy with that. There's 2 other teams that I'm pretty jealous of, but I do think this starting team is stronger than the one I finished 2011 with.

EDIT: Woah. Looking down I just realised that I have 11 pitchers who posted under 2.75 ERA last year.

Yea, it was a good draft. Great to see everyone there, it should be a good competative season. I have 3 players playing in Japan so the season starts for me on Wednesday morning

Not sure about my team.
Took a good few gambles.
Expect to change it up a good bit within the 1st month

Thanks to everyone for shpwing up for the draft last night. Really rattled through it.
Sone very strong looking teams out these. First week opponents for me, Homers Homers look very strong.

Picked Bryce Harper and V-Mart off FA. Now that it's a keeper league and all! Slightly surprised both were available. Not sure it's wise using up a DL and BN spot for pretty much the entire season (Harper won't be up until July at the very earliest I reckon if at all), could probably have waited on Harper a few months.

I guess it's early season excitement and I'm easily led by hype!
