Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

You will get a bigger house for free if you do it the other way around

Three month old baby and pregnant again.
Ah God love them. Give them a house quickly

If they get given a house it is sending a message that people should just start having as many kids as young as they possibly can.

I mean, looking at our welfare state, that's not exactly a secret.

I have an extended family member who is shaping up to be exactly like this one; had her second baby there recently (still a teen) and hasn't even gotten a leaving cert to her name. No ambition besides living off the state; I doubt there's much hope for her kids given how little value she places on education or bettering oneself.

Sometimes I wish I never had a hard working bone in my body.

I'm living away from my family, house sharing with idiots approaching my 30's. All my money I've earnt sitting in the bank will eventually go on a house.

While leeches are brought up by their leech parents learning how to leech.

These people go on more holidays than me, have nicer houses and don't have to share with strangers, have way more free time than me to enjoy.

    What's the point?

  • Banned (with Prison Access) Posts: 499 ✭✭SirGerryAdams

On the housing list 3 years, with 2 children aged 20 months and 3 months and she's now 4 weeks pregnant.

And she said "We need somewhere for us all to live as a family," Ms Wilde said. "I'm four-weeks pregnant. Some people are saying I'm trying to jump the queue but that's not true."

Disgraceful behaviour and the usual lack of personal responsibility. If they get given a house it is sending a message that people should just start having as many kids as young as they possibly can.

    Still time for an abortion!

    ??

You do know that having an abortion due to not being able to financially support another child is a valid and common reason for them?

It's child cruelty to bring another kid into that world they are living.

Here’s me like a spa getting up every morning, driving a 10 year old car and wondering if I’ll have a job week on week. Kept a roof over our heads through taking on multiple ****ty jobs during the worst recession in the history of the state as well. Where’s my free house?

    2 kids under 20 months.

    Fcuk off

Credit to both sets of their parents who evidently ensured that whatever else the couple may have learned at school, they were fully educated in how to work the system. Seems a shame that neither of them were taught how to use family planning, but of course its far harder to milk the system without kids.

My older sister hasn't worked since 2009 when she had her first child, she then had another a few years ago and was put into a lovely council apartment soon after because she lost her two previous rentals through not paying the rent.

Meanwhile I haven't a hope of buying a house in the near future cause I own a business and the bank seem to hate giving us folk any sort of finance. My other sister works full time and so does her boyfriend and they have to save for at least the next two years for the bank to even entertain them (kids are also out of the question for them in the meantime)

Cant help but see the irony that out of a family of 3 the one that doesn't work is the one that has the house (courtesy of joe taxpayer) and that all the two who work have to look forward to is getting lubed up for one hell of a riding from the long d*ck of some bank because they are contributing members of society.

Sometimes life just don`t make no sense

It's probably because her partner can't afford condoms. The cost of getting tattoos is very high these days and tattoos are an essential requirement for certain forms of pond life, far more important than a pack of Lidl's finest johnnies.

Nobody's saying they shouldn't have sex- just practice SAFE sex.

If I was 4 weeks pregnant with two young children to feed and no roof over my head I would be seriously considering whether going through with the pregnancy was in best interests of my family. If she's 4 weeks pregnant then she has literally only just taken the pregnancy test, it's very very early.

Of course an extra mouth to feed bumps her up the housing ladder I'm sure...

And yet, that's exactly what they've done. Not just tried, but did.

They've costed someone else a potential home on the social housing waitin glist by their actions.

I admire people like this. They see our political and establishment classes gaming the system and they do likewise. Monkey see, monkey do.

Do you don’t mind paying for their gaming? Or are you doing a bit of gaming yourself?

People will say the subsequent kids will suffer but it seems like an obvious deterrant

This absolutely needs to be reviewed. Benefits for 2 kids and end of - anymore after that and you can **** off and pay for them yourself.

No way. Increase taxes on the Dinkys and increase child benefit.

@admin. Sirjerryadams did as instructed and stated that he couldn't see where it was against the rules.
Rather than carding him, can you point out where 1. He has broken the rules and 2. Where he didn't follow your instruction.

On his point, it is still an option. Many would prefer if she didn't become pregnant again but, now that she is, this is an option.

Suggesting that a woman get an abortion in a facetious way and referring to the state of her nipples is being a d*ck, per the forum charter. I hope that clears up any lingering confusion in anyone’s minds.

If you want to debate this further, do not reply here, but go through the other channels.

    Dear people of the forum,

I, SirGerryAdams, apologise for a facetious comment about abortion and a joke about a womans nipples.

I hope no one in the forum was offended and that you accept my apology.

I will for the time being only ridicule Trump, Cork accents, Leitrim, people paying 6 euro for chicken fillet rolls, landlords, politicians and arts degrees.

I now understand a joke about a womans nipples has crossed the line.

    Regards,
    SirGerryAdams

I've said it before on threads where we all moan about the human flotsam we must provide for. Essentially it is done to keep them where they are. Better to keep them and their offspring sedated on Dutch Gold and Johnnie Blues than robbing our houses. I accept paying them off doesn't fully stop them crossing over into our world from time to time however compared to countries with no sedation system we aren't too bad here.

There isn't the appetite in this State to deal with the issue effectively.

    Well said that man!

I have often idly considered opening a thread on AH to discuss the attractiveness (or otherwise) of pierced nipples on people of either gender (or both, or neither, or none) but I'm now very concerned that if I do, I'll be reprimanded by the mods.

My plan was for the thread to be an illustrated one, but on reflection, I think that I'll let the matter rest for a while.

I don't think that there is an appetite in any EU State to deal with this issue effectively. Furthermore, I'm not sure that effective solutions that aren't very unfair to the innocent children actually exist.

(And when I refer to innocent children, I stress that I'm far from being a signed-up member of the bleeding heart association, but just think that it's very unfair to punish them for their parent's (or parents') fecklessness.)
