Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Ladies and Gentlemen, it is time for the social event of the year.

No, not the annual Bog Snorkelling competition, it's the inaugural BGRH/LL beers.

Venue: The Bull and Castle (note: NOT the Elephant and Castle)

Date: Friday the 4th of April

    Time: 5:30pm till late

We have an area reserved upstairs in the beer hall. Trust me, you will have no problem finding us

Full details, including a map, are in the link above.

Note to newbies: It can be hard walking in to a room full or strangers, especially strangers you only know from the internet. We have all been there at some stage, don't let this put you off. If you want to PM me or one of the girls, we can make arrangements to meet you either outside, or somewhere else so you won't have to walk in on your own.

Don't let this be the reason you miss one helluva good night.

    Teh Rulez:

Newbies must bring a can of Carnation Condensed Milk. No exceptions. No milk, no entry. If you cannot source a can, pay heed to what the now legend GinnyJo did last time.

You know the drill, the following are not permitted:
    • Goats
    • Fried Eggs
    • Aprons
    • Red Tights
    • Twister Mats
    • Internet Connected Devices (posting on Boards.ie while at a Beers is just not funny any more)

Photos - not everybody is an attention whore like me and DesF, so please ask people's permission if you want to take photographs. Accordingly, not everybody wants their picture put on teh interweb, for various reasons (trout's wife actually thinks he is going to his Book Club AGM), so please respect that.

Video cameras - I think it is a given that nobody wants their drunken escapades captured on video.

BHRG/LL Beers on the 4th of April - roll call 95 votes

Yes, I want to surround myself with fine specimens of men/women (delete as appropriate)

    WTF is Bod snorkeling?

Sounds like a risqué party piece involving face masks, an Irish rugby player and an unusual amount of water.

I'll be at the beers though.

    Chatting up the wimmins.

    Having a bit of a dance.:D

If you are new to these beers, if this is your first one, you are required to bring
with you ONE (1) Can of Carnation Condensed Milk*

This is what it looks like.

It will be left on a table in the vicinity of everyone, so we can be easily recognised.

    2269970310_95190f11a5.jpg

Furthermore, Carnation Evaporated Milk will not be acceptable.

*you may also "create" a can of this. Using artistic skill and innovation.

    I'll be there for sure.

Can't wait! Brother Tom, can we have a burger king date again like last time? That really helped the last time.

Also, I'll be boyfriendless and will have to get the nitelink back to my parents house that night. It'll be like going back in time! :)

Nah, (although a good backup idea). He's buggering off for 6 weeks before we go to NZ and I'm moving back in with my parents so i don't have to pay for anything. Will be very weird. I'll have to be as quiet as possible coming in the door and then I'll drunkenly stumble around making super noodles in the kitchen, then I'll spill the noodles all over the hall on my way to bed and leave them there til the morning and then lying to my mum the next day that I didn't drink that much I had a bad burger while she evilly laughs. It'll be like I'm 18 again!

no but it's easy to get used to names, altho you may come home knowing either one or the other (real name or boardsname) and be a bit stuck when on boards after!

    *must avoid cameras this time*
