Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

    That Rover looks just right...

And he didn't mess with the reg either, it coulda been Z V8 8856, but he's better not attracting a ticket for that

Todays shots - missed a (future classic Merc ) SLS 60 DC was the reg. , and a nice pairing on the N11 , W123 coupe being passed by W124 coupe  and an 88 Carina

Often wondered about the old velosolex etc. or the more modern version in your pic.
Is "road tax" and insurance required if used on public roads ?

Yes its a mechanically propelled vehicle ..... unless it falls into an exempt section.

    The 'get-out' clause might be in the pedals, it's only a 'part-time mechanically propelled VEH-HEE-KILL ' :)

I hope to make the bicycle engine and motorized bicycle popular in Ireland and also make the legal requirements (tax/insurance/licence) much more transparent so that we can all enjoy our motorized bicycles in peace :)

spotted these in Deansgrange yesterday while putting Mrs tc20s Micra through the NCT. The Bluebird is an 89 Turbo SR, which was in for the test.
The Merc & AC were just in the same industrial estate

and a couple of spots from recent holidays in Gran Canaria.
There seems to be very few daily classics on the road over there compared to previous years.
Two that escaped the camera were a Merc W114 saloon, and a gorgeous Puegeot 404.
Still quite a few Merc W124 & S124 plying their trade as taxis, but most of the cabs now are either S210s or Toyotas

The Passat (is this a B3 ?) are getting thin on the ground over here too, I always liked them as a solid old workhorse of a thing, even if they weren't the VW designers finest moment (I always thought the front end styling was dour)

The Revenue Commissioners text that I read recently spoke of black-on-white plates for "vehicles first registered" in 87-91 and Europlates for "vehicles first registered" from '92-on, but does not use the phrase "first registered in Ireland/the state", so it seems that (thank god) the date of original registration defines the type of plate to be used after registration in Irl - after all, if the phrase used was "first registered in Ireland", that would mean that a 1920's car imported in the 70's could use an old-style plate, but an identical car imported in 2014 could not...

Looks like you had a nice day out. Nice fire engine lurking in the background, looks a bit like a 1966 Dennis I had once. Just a chassis/cab, no fire bodywork left on it. 17000 miles on it.
