If they market it properly and it's the only one in Galway the location won't make a huge difference.

Ahh, you forget that "we Irish love our cars" and many simply won't be able to imagine going to a place where they cannot park outside.

Possibly. The location doesn't show up properly on my phone. Where exactly is it? I'm guessing somewhere around Ben's Stores?

Other side of the road, very close to that. Was a specialist craft shop for a while, with those orange signs you can see in that map-link-pic. Then was a drycleaners outlet for short time, and I think selling sports clothing for a while.

Very bad location for any kind of retail.

Yeah. That's where I was thinking. Cunniss' Yard will be getting some new visiting cars.

did I see right (on moving bus so could be wrong) but has someone opened a 3D printing shop on Bohermore? first commercial 3D effort in Galway?
People will want to go there.
    Do they have a website?

While I agree with that, I think for this business it depends on the size of what's being printed.

If it's only small items then car-friendliness will make no difference. If they're doing larger items (mostly) then they are definitely in the wrong location, IMO.

Brutal location for that 3D printing shop alright, they would be prime shopping centre material not up there, nobody except residents goes up there. Best of luck to them though.

Bad location and no parking, it's gonna be tough for them I'd say. Hope they make it as tis good to see new type of businesses opening up other than takeaways and coffee shops.

They should have moved on and co-opted other fads. A pulled pork cupcake served in a graduated cylinder, for example.

Heaven Scent Health and Beauty on Augustine St is gone. Nothing outside the premises, but their website says so. http://www.heavenscentbeautyspa.ie/

Also, the perpetually re-branding chipper on Headford Rd is now "Doel: Fine Indian cusine restaurant and takeaway". Nice to see it's found a real market niche. But it's decked out in Mayo colours though, might not have been the smartest move.

A dole office is one of the few things that hasn't been tried there.

McAlindins/Carroll's has changed hands. Could turn into a good music pub.

  • Registered Users Posts: 17,912 ✭✭✭✭Eeden

    What sort of music?

  • Registered Users Posts: 9,962 ✭✭✭thesandeman

    Probably folk/Americana.

Sorry, thesandeman, what I meant was, is this a guess, or a supposition, or a hope?

Bit of all three but mainly because some of the stuff lined up is of that genre as are his connections. I'll know more after the weekend.
