Something I should've done this year and will try next year is an acca for results or DnB/double chance for each game in each round just for the laugh.

No season bets really - Paddy Power aren't doing handicap nor sack race (wanted Bradley). Me and the 3 lads I pick bets with have taken two small each way bets on Top Goalscorers Akinade (14/1) and Kieran Sadlier (25/1).

Sadlier comes second top goalscorer with 15 goals... Hoban ran away with it. Still half or a third of the odds depending where you backed it. Akinade with a poor season goal wise.

Tenner on (my cousin) Vinnie Perth to be the Dundalk manager @ 2.5.

Wasting your money I'd imagine - Vinny Perth doesn't have the relevant badges so can't be officially the manager supposedly as per new rules introduced in 2018.

It's the FAI can do... considering they didn't pay a cent in compensation it seems for Kenny!

Might take the draw for Janesboro/Ballynanty Rovers and Prospect at home to Kilmallock @ 5.48.

Doesn't take away from the fact it was a bad bet mate regardless if it won - Dundalk obviously got a dispensation from the FAI to break their own rules to allow Perth be manager.

FAI Junior Cup weekend, had a punt on St. Michael's, Usher Celtic and Aisling Annacotty @ 2.4.

Supposedly Usher Celtic were very good against that PFAI team the other day.

    When's the college cup starting?

Doesn't look likely - probably do a goalscorer bet when odds are up.

    Waterford/Rovers BTTS
    Bohs DnB vs Harps.
    Derry win vs UCD
    Dundalk over 1.5 vs Sligo

    @ 4.11

Think the first one is the stickiest?

    ***LEAGUE OF IRELAND BETS***
It's back, opening day of the League of Ireland Premier Division season! No Ante Post bets this season with no sack race, etc... Drennan was our planned option for top goalscorer but at 10/1 he's too short for an each way when Hoban will probably walk away with it again this season.
Derry with a new manager and a lot of new signings host promoted UCD who will struggle this season. Adding to their woes, one of their best players Evan Osam got injured recently so will be out for a good few weeks supposedly.
Pats have made some big signings over the close season with Forrester returning, Drennan & McCabe and some others. They've also gone full time this season with a new manager at the helm. Cork have had a mixed close season - a few "unknown" signings which may or may not work. Cork far too short here for the win.

    Derry -0.75 @ 1.85 (Bet365/Asia) - Small Stake

St. Patricks Ath Draw No Bet @ 2.00 (General) - Small Stake

    New season beckons!

Bohs, Derry and Dundalk over 1.5 each at 3.5/1

And a fiver on the overs in all 5 at 31/1

    Gone with;

Bohs, Derry and Cork City to win.

I know a lot of people are talking up Pats, and Cork away from the home can be unpredictable, but I just have a sneaking suspicion that they will win tonight.

I fancy Pats for a big season and think Rovers have made some shrewd signings also.

I remember Johnny Ward saying during the off season that he really wanted to improve on his tips, and then he goes and tips bloody UCD away to Derry.
Even Stevie Wonder saw that result coming, must be some decent Super Skunk floating around Galway.

Games in 48 hours . They never want to price up
Where they think anybody might know something they don’t . Like u can bet in premier league English matches today that aren’t on for a month. . They take little risk anymore and are slowly squeezing every bit of value away from the punter

Longford DnB & Bray to win - 2.67.

There was never any value for the punter with PP in first place.

    Shels/Bray/pats for me this week

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 17,965 ✭✭✭✭Gavin "shels"

    ***LEAGUE OF IRELAND BETS***
Week 1 started with two wins from two! This week is a tough set of fixtures, avoiding the Premier as it's a tougher set.
Limerick have been a shambles close season on and off the pitch, season tickets weren't available to buy, players not signed, no training facilities up until recently, etc... Longford did lose a few of their best players from last season but signed a few decent ones.
We can't see Cabinteely scoring against a solid Bray team who made a big signing in goal in Sava from Dundalk and managed to hold onto two of their main defenders and signed a few good young lads too. Their pitch is usually not in great nick (the rugby team play/train there too) so can't see this being a goal-fest at all.

    Longford Draw No Bet @ 1.85 (Bet365/Asia) - Small/Med Stake

    Cabo/Bray Under 2.5 Goals @ 1.85 (General) - Small Stake

We're missing James English and Conan Byrne may not start (broke his foot in the warm up against UCD) and has only played 30 mins I think on Friday against Ballymun. Just a word of warning! Hope we do win... will top off what should be a good away day! :D

Not great fixtures for prem, staying away from first games in the first,

City, Dundalk, Rovers, Bohs at just under 5/1 for interest.

Apologies for the late post... the joys of being the only non Premier team supporting one out of the 3 of us (the other two are on the beer!)

    St. Pats -1 @ 1.75 (Bet365/Asia) - Med Stake

    Dundalk -2 Asian @ 1.70 (General) - Small/Med Stake

Bad midweek bets on Monday in the Premier and with it being so unpredictable we're avoiding it this weekend and focusing on the First Division.
Bray started the season well with a 3-0 win over Cabo, on paper they've a very good side this season and will definitely be challenging for top spot. Limerick on the other hand have just been a shambles off the pitch and only getting their act together with new investors coming in at the end of the year, etc...
I was in Galway at the Shels game and we were very poor first half, our keep caught off the line twice which is not like him at all! We showed serious fight in the second half and 3 subs made all the difference. Can see Morris potentially starting the 3 lads and definitely will not want to have to come from 2-0 down to win 3-2 again this week - he'll want this done with come the 60th min.

    Bray -0.75 @ 1.70 (Bet365/Asia) - Small Stake

    Shelbourne -1.25 @ 1.85 (Bet365/Asia) - Small Stake

    Hiya lads,

Going to Rovers game tonight for the first time and wondering where's the best place to park? Form Cork so no idea of Dublin.

p.s. Not a member of the Soccer forum so couldn't post my question in there.

    Thanks.

    Thanks.

Best place is probably in the Square Shopping Centre (I think it may be free for match goers). There's also a underground carpark at Aldi at Tallaght Cross. I've never drove out there on match-days tbh - always jump on the Luas whenever Shels have played out there.

Hey, as a relative enough visitor to Tallaght stadium I can recommend parking for you!

Either in the Lidl carpark opposite, or a lot of people park up on the curb on Whitestown Way, which leads up the side of the stadium and there is never a problem with that.

The stadium car park is for club members only.

I'd say parking in those spots will fill up fairly swiftly as Dundalk usually seem to bring a large crowd.

Just remember that the white zone is for immediate loading and unloading of passengers only. There is no stopping in a red zone.

That Bray to nil I had has since been slashed from 2.33 to 1.5. Took -1 to make up for it which makes it 2.7

Thanks for the replies. After all that I think I'll just get the luas as my hotel is in Bluebell.

Fancy Nash to get his first city goal tonight (if he starts). Came on last week against Waterford and had a shoot on sight policy. He'll also get banned numerous time this season as he loves a late tackle.

City normally good for corners too, despite only getting one corner last week. They did manage 13 corners in the two away games this season.
