Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

They'd want to up the pace a tad

Yep. Fair enough, it takes 15 hours to make a beautiful bracket etc but that's still only a few days work done since last video.

It is almost like they have full time jobs and families also and only get to work on it when they get free time :)

That may be but they have viewers funding this now and further sponsors too so they might want to give it some more of their spare time.

Surely not, your making that up, that blonde bird was an actress playing a wife surely and those babies were just kidnapped for the opening credits once :pac::pac::pac::D:pac::pac::pac:

Perhaps it's the reason they're progressing slowly, finish the car and the funding finishes too.

It's a passion project that's really well put together and explained, they're right to go at their own pace imo

And if those people were not happy with the speed of progress, they would probably stop funding it.

Anybody here funding it as a matter of interest?

I've bought stuff from their store, that's about it.

FWIW, I'm hoping they keep it as slow as possible for more episodes.

I havent either buy the pace of it doesn't inspire me either, I do however feel a little guilty when I watch soup, always look forward to that one.

Don't get me wrong, I love the work and the detail they go to to achieve stuff but I don't need it to be so slow moving.
Loved the auto wiper install.... half thinking of putting auto wipers into our old tractor just as a piss take.

Last time i watched it was over a year ago, must catch up with earlier episodes

Considering the effort they put into fabricating all manner of brackets etc. I was expecting them to go full spec on a motorsport style custom loom.

Having made wiring looks for cars over the years, their work on this seems a bit shady so far, no protection on any of the wiring runs etc. Hopefully in the next episode they'll bring on harness protection and the likes cos God knows the time you don't want a wire to chafe and Arc off a panel is the time it does and burns a car to the ground..

It'll be some machine when finished though, if they ever get it finished that is..

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 5,164 ✭✭✭zetecescort

I'd imagine all the wiring will come out for painting and they'll put in grommets and wrap the loom then

Wiring porn, my favourite, great episode. Like above I was surprised no harnessing was done, again it might be later.

New post on what looks to be all the machining of the alternator drive from the last episode.

As much as I appreciate a well designed and manufactured bit of machining, that episode was such a let down compared to the others.

That was just a sub episode with all the detail on the machining. Good way to do it so they didn't need to dedicate too much time to it o n main episode.

Second part of the machining dropping at 8 tonight.

The skills that both these lads have is unreal. That car will be bulletproof and an engineering marvel when they finish it. Would love to see an episode about the 2 lads background.

Watching the first series - these guys are simply incredible. Real engineers. Never mind the car but the engineering that goes into their various jigs and rigs is mindblowing..

It took me a few episodes to get to grips with some of the gags but I'm glad to have found this thread.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 24,460 ✭✭✭✭lawred2

    Just finished episode 23.

Went to look for episode 24. No episode 24. What gives?

Then I see post date on episode 23. 1st March. There are no more. I'm up to date.

    :(

This dropped for patron supporters today. They have an MG SVR body shell alongside the 205 rally car in the opening sequence to be done next.
