Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Whats the craic with everyone having 2 teams in this? Is that how the Sky one works?

Yes, you don't have to have two teams but it's an option. There also an option for a 3rd team after Xmas to compete fir monthly prizes etc.

Wish they'd hurry the hell up with the tv fixtures. It's a big part of this game planning out captains.

  • Registered Users Posts: 3,173 ✭✭✭Dearg81

What are you doing with the 2nd team? I've gone for the same defence and midfield and 3 different forwards.

Who are the bargains this year? I haven't spotted any in midfield or forwards yet?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 15,264 ✭✭✭✭manual_man

I've 5 players different at the minute

  • Registered Users Posts: 3,173 ✭✭✭Dearg81

I had a longer looks there at the cheaper players.
Here are some potential under-priced midfielders and attackers with Antonio, Armstrong and Wood being the best options I think.

    Midfield

    West Ham:
    1. Antonio 8.2m - He's going straight into my team
    2. Noble 8m - He was playing a more attacking role at the end of the season. Probably not on penos though as Antonio took the last one vs Man U.
    3. Soucek 7.3m - Everyone probably knows about him due to his low price in FPL. Decent goal threat and very strong in the air.

    Leeds
Klick 7.3 - consistent player over last year with assists and goals in him.

    Southampton
Armstrong 7.1m - Looks very under-priced, finished the season strong but may get subbed a lot due to emergence of Smallbone.

    Forwards

Burnley - Wood 8.5m - Everything goes through him and on penos.

Sou - Adams 7.9 - I think he might start the season well. He should start as 1st choice as he was playing well at end of last season but will be subbed off early every match for Long/Obafemi and may be dropped if his form dips.

Ars - Nkietah 7.7m - Only if Lacazette leaves.

Thinking of setting up a cash league in the game strictly for Boards users. I'm thinking £10 entry.

A SkyBet account is needed for this. Anyone interested just thank this post. Want to get an idea of interest.

There's no price rises to worry about (the most stressful aspect IMO) and you can set your captains for each game day in advance of the gameweek starting. You can also make changes (captaincy or making transfers) right up until first kickoff on a game day. I don't find it hard to manage.

Yeah, Im waiting on this too.

I was thinking of setting up a separate thread to discuss team selections/captaincies based on the opening game weeks... up until the 1st overhaul. Week 4 I think it is?!?

Or would it better to keep all skysport FF discussion in one thread.

    What's everyone's thoughts?

I think a separate thread is a good idea especially for the beginners. It will make it clear what is happening after the first 4 game weeks.

Are game weeks the same style as the offical FF?

No. International breaks count as a GW and some slightly differ.

How are we gettin on with our teams?

    Martinez
    VVD Vinagre Tierney
    Bruno Saint-Maximin Armstrong Ziyech
    Werner(c) Auba(c) Son(c)

    Martinez
    VVD Vinagre Justin
    KDB Bruno Barnes Pulisic
    Son(c) Ings(c) Jimenez(c)

0.1 in the bank in 1st team, allows Auba to KDB *edit* gw2. Nothing in the bank 2nd team though i think i could get away with no transfers barring injury until overhaul. Wait and see on Pulisic(injured). Martinez we'll see lineups prior to start is a great price at 6.3 if he starts ahead of Leno.

Will be keeping my teams a closely guarded secret just like last year.

Good spot on Martinez, Saka is also worth a punt of he starts at 7m. I have most of the same players, main differences are Thomas, Robertson, Pereira (WBA), Saka, Mane and Vardy.

How does that work when you have to talk on podcasts? I'm not a fan of podcasts so never listened but what do you talk about if you are not talking about individual players you rate and are going to pick?

True valid point forget about that. Be a lot harder to keep my team a secret this season actually. Finding it hard to create a team I’m happy with so far.

You'll have to create a large watch list and be very generous in your praise of all the obvious picks.

On keeping your team a secret, I'm sure if someone really wanted to they could crack your team quick enough or at least the majority of it after week 1.

Last season I had most of the top players teams sussed out. Really looking forward to the next to new season already. What’s you target this season ?

I'm an optimist like yourself and would give myself a very small chance of winning it. I'm entering a few mini leagues this time though so would settle for winning them which will probably need another top 50 or so finish.

Edit - when I say settle I really mean I'd be delighted :-)

No reason why you can’t win it. I’m
Aiming for another top 50 finish will be happy with that. Never entered cash leagues last year might give them ago aswell.

Bruno and KDB surely must haves but are people starting with either? I'm trying to put a plan together to get both in for GW 2 so I've 11 for GW 1 but struggling to fit in both

Is saving the transfer on bringing in Bruno worth not fielding someone in Gw1?

No point having a player for one gameweek then shipping Out that next Saturday. Be a waste of a transfer. So best just to keep in and save transfer for later on in the year.

You can win the 50k overall prize if that's what you are really asking.

The only way you can win the 50k is by wining the whole thing. Their is no 50k prize in any leagues.

A number of the money leagues Sky runs in the game have prize pools of around £10k(once all the entries are accounted for). 50% 1st 25% 2nd 15% 3rd 10% 4th. They run a £20 entry league and £10, £5, and £2 ones.

Any idea where last seasons winner of that 10k finished?

  • Registered Users Posts: 523 ✭✭✭Donegal1234

He finished 6th overall. I know the winner 2 years ago collected 95k or so. 50k for winning it another 45k for all the cash leagues he won. Crazy

  • Registered Users Posts: 533 ✭✭✭Hackers

With cash leagues being no problem in the Sky game but it seems now an issue in fantasypremier game, why a problem in one and not the other?

A case of trying to get people to play the Sky game as well and have to open a Skybet account....or is it me just being a cynic??!

With the Sky game it's built in with skybet holding and then distributing the cash to the winners. I'm guessing with FPL there was probably issues with underage players entering money leagues. With skybet you have to be 18+ obviously so it's not an issue

Had a listen-some good info in there. I’m going to take a stab at guessing your GW1 team

    McCarthy
    Robertson Van Dyke Vinagre Doherty
    Bruno Antonio Ndidi
    Auba Werner Kane

Anyway close to your actual team?

Yea pretty close to my team. Most teams will be similar until the overhaul. After the overhaul is when things get interesting.

I’ll keep on eye on the FF hub channel for more insights ( I hadn’t realised they use a different channel for sky). Will you be in with the lads throughout the season?

Will be on for every overhaul week and then will be on every 3/4 weeks afterwards. I enjoy doing them.
