Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Coming home from work (North Dublin) I watched huge cumulus erupt so fast that they had a double pileus cap. Ominous amount of energy in the atmosphere.

Ploughing should be delayed till 1300 surely on latest output if delaying - winds peaking 10-11am?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 14,587 ✭✭✭✭M.T. Cranium

Agreed that north Connacht and west Ulster are going to see some brief heavy rainfalls followed by wind gusts to 130 km/hr around 09h to early afternoon tomorrow mainly.

I'm thinking that the potential wind event for Sunday might be more significant as it looks to impact all of the larger population centres on a Sunday afternoon when a lot of people might be out on day trips, and it won't be a mainly coastal event. Also, it is now fairly consistently displayed on all models. So it might be good to have a thread starting on this possible windy day (could wait and see if 00z model runs continue to converge on similar look).

Sunday is what is being discussed in the FI threads, a potentially damaging storm. Check the thread out for details. It's hard to keep track of all these potential wind events because they're all coming one after the other! :pac:

You'd expect first wave will get out tomorrow using RWY16/34 but with delays for sure as not good for Ops and Taxi.

As veers 220-250 will be very dodgy 0800-1100z

Ground operations (everything that isn't an aircraft) and taxiing.

Ground operations and taxing - the runway is not ideal for the capacity the airport needs, will result in longer taxiing from the gate to runway than if using rwy 28
