Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Doesn't look good for the Imperial navies if a shooting match breaks out...looks like Iran is more than a match for them

Bit confused here. You're saying the Iranian navy is a match for the British (or American?) navy because they commandeered an oil tanker?

The Brits captured an Iranian tanker in Gibraltar. As an act of retaliation the Iranians have captured a British tanker in the Strait of Hormuz. They have also reportedly captured a second tanker.

    Another tanker possibly captured

Edit: Destination up as "Armed Guards on Board", LR2 POSEIDON, Hong Kong

Yep seeing this not sure yet. It be nuts if they take another tanker.

    Cheers.

Silly question, why exactly did the Brits capture one of their tankers on Gib? Was it not authorized to be there?

And likely a 3rd one, this is where you really see the modern world and its constant updates, also what Twitter is actually useful for rather than just SJW's cancelling each other and alt-right trolls

What in the name of Jaysus are armed Gardaí doing in the Strait of Hormuz?

Shouldn't they be sorting out the 'rising crime levels' in Dublin before trying to calm down tensions in the Gulf?

If UK takes military action it be laughable if Trump says not my business. It too early- Trump reaction may be different in a few hours time. There no sign military action is imminent though. We have to watch and see.

Are the British going to send the coast guard?

No confusion, the tankers are irrelevant, what Iran has shown is that it can operate under the Empire's nose and do whatever it wishes to do.

Means the Empire's warships will be in deep sh1t in a conflict.

Two tankers seized in the one day.

Could we be looking at the next Gulf War?

Create a fake crisis by paying disgruntled Iranian soldiers more than they would make in a year for a few hours work and hey presto, the 9th April 2018 Bolton regime gets a diversion away from the 'send her back' rallies and its fallout. Sick lot these rulers of the former USA.

I believe false flags happen but Iran hasn’t disavowed this. Also it’s not an attack on the US per say.

US military aircraft have taken off and are over the strait of Hormuz. At this time they watching US owned ships for their safety.

If the brits fire 1 bullet then they may aswell fire at the crew of the ships. Nothing will happen untill they are released.

It's May's last days in office how can she authorise anything.

Legally speaking is it theft or an act of war?

He doesn't give a feck about his inbred base there are others who want a war ,but trump has already said he would take action hence the carrier group , other fleet vessels ,along with enough airpower to remove most of Iran's military being moved into the area

For some reason Iran thinks they can get a better deal out of this ,they will rapidly alienate any support if they don't back down

Im a bit confused here. A single US carrier strike group could send Iran back to the stone age....theres no military match here whats so ever, and the Iranians know this.

My bets are the Brits have a Vanguard boomer heading to the region. They'll announce HMS Kent, but thats the PR side. The real strategic stuff will be kept quiet.

I think they have couple of destroyers in Persian gulf. Another one on the way, If they going in militarily, they ask Trump to join it be difficult for him to turn down an ally.

War between former USA and UK if something goes wrong. If the Americans pretending to be Iranians kill anyone from the British ships and the British find out, relations go south very quickly. 2 former pals and nuke powers on a war footing. And all to cover up a stupid rally Bolton's racist pals set up.

Let’s see what happens. Any war could cause a world wide recession and could be devastating to the west. Even People like yourself who tend to support wars that kill millions of brown people might have some opposition if it affected your livelihood.

Might want to research the falklands.

(Of course I realise that there are far more war mongers in the US these days, many with a hatred of Iran).

The truth. Perfect crisis to divert attentions away from the negative publicity over the 'send her back' rallies. Typical John Bolton tripe. This drivel was not happening when Bolton wasn't influencing things was it??? People need to wake up to the evil of this April 2018 American filth. Worst American regime ever. And the worst is yet to come unless this shower are taken down now for good.

April 2018 regime want to get the UK out of the 2015 deal too. All very clear who is behind all this.

    I don't think so.

Which of the tankers had members of the Garda Armed Support Unit onboard?

A rather inopportune time for the UK to have it's flagship carrier, HMS Queen Elizabeth, pulled up at the side of the channel waiting for the AA van to arrive and fix it .... again.

Transponder for the second tanker has just come online and its moving away from Iranian Coast. Right now it looks to be released. There no need for Iran to hold two tankers, they only need one to bargain with..

Or it simply wasn't taken or Iranians didn't like the armed security on board

One tanker won't give them much leverage just a case of how much are the cleric's and Revolutionary guard willing are willing to lose .

A weakened military could lead the people of Iran to make changes

Hate to break it to you, but outside liberal circles, most people could give a **** about that nonsense.

Or at least, certainly not to the degree that anyone would risk starting a war over it to try and deflect attention away from it.

IRGC are claiming they have now released Mesdar oil tanker. They still are keeping the Stella tanker, for now.

They only wanted their oil tanker back and are likely trying to negotiate this.

They were offered it back days ago

Publicly offered it back so now we're into piracy or terrorism .

The British should now drain the Iranian oil and sell it off

What else are they? Warmongering. Sanctions. And oh yes a pregnant woman who gets shot nearly jailed in Alabama. Anyone excusing America's current regime's VILE agenda needs a reality check. At best, this Bolton regime is insulting but we know they are worse than just that. I would hate to see who the next Republican president would be if this trend continues: some awful mongrel of Commander Fred, Joseph McCarthy and Hitler.

There is no nonsense. America's history is vile and there are plenty evil racist types who are there in the background waiting in the aisles. No, I don't think Trump is a real racist but I do believe there is an evil base of racists out there.

Liberal = free. We are ALL supposed to be free. The opposite to that is UNFREE. So, anyone who thinks liberal is a dirty word are advocates of the unfree. The horrors of slavery, segregation and prohibition and the paranoia of McCarthysim where capitalists were condemned as communists. This is all the types of America we need to NEVER see gain footing ever again.

Of course, there is hyperbole by these Democrat congresswomen and so on but threats do exist and namecalling from both sides feeds extremists. There is a campaign by evil people like Bolton to start wars with all sorts of dirty trickery and the sad fact is guys like Bolton could look good compared to the filth that could eventually take their place in America if all this current paranoid McCarthyist-style stuff continues.

Honestly that post is a load of sensationalist nonsense, there’s very little difference between how America is run from one administration to the other. It doesn’t just transform on a dime after each election.
