I've publicly stated that pre and post Iraq invasion .

    Absolutely bad .

The invasion of Iraq was not a war, it was an invasion to steal oil.

No it was one man's quest to finish a job his father didn't do in the previous war .

What will John Bolton's reason be if he allowed attack Iran?

Apparently revenge for the iraq insurgency (post invasion) which iran were heavily involved in.
That or people are still sore over the Iran Islamic Revolution

The Iraq insurgency finished many years ago, the other excuse is just that.

"they posed a threat to the region", "they sponsored terrorism" - the usual guff.

America is in the extraordinary position of being a huge imperial nation that is itself a slave to a small nation.

If you have another country or a cabal within your own government running US middle east policy of behalf of that country then its a problem. There is no democratic oversight and often the policy is at odds with the interests of the US.

    Iraq yes ,
    Afghanistan definitely no
    Yugoslavia no
    Central America maybe

Remember alot of what America got involved with post ww2 was actually worth doing Russia occupied Eastern Europe and had exported their brand of communism around the world , including the south Americas

Or would be be happier having our own chairmans red handbook , something that rarely gets mentioned is other countries inventions

Cold war has been over for thirty years. Can't keep using that excuse. The wars in the middle east and beyond after the cold war in large part were work schemes for the military industrial complex, Raytheon, Lockheed, Boeing, the likes of them can't tolerate peace for very long.

Add to that nutters in positions of power in the US and Israel who love nothing more than a real life version of the book of revelations. The likes of John Bolton are beyond any doubt insane enough to start WW3.

The cold war never ended it just moved geographically but it's still the same players behind the scenes ,
The west and EU Vs Russia and China vying for top dog status

Let's gets back to the cold war ended 30 years ago how come posters still go on about Tonkin

The US consistently encroached on Russian and Chinese interests not vice versa. Pax Americana is in a weaker position globally than it ever has been and is the single biggest threat to global peace as it withers and dies. Don't give me any guff about spreading freedom and democracy, even you know that is garbage.

"Iran has warned Britain that it should be “scared” of retaliation after Royal Marines seized an oil supertanker in Gibraltar.

“I am openly saying that Britain should be scared of Iran’s retaliatory measures over the illegal seizure of the Iranian oil tanker,” said cleric Mohammad Ali Mousavi Jazayeri."

I'm beginning to think Iran are hoping for a bloody nose

Wonder if they are using all the sudden bravado to cover up issues at home

The Saudi King appreciates that all this is distracting from his order to torture then chop up a journalist before dissolving him in acid in the Saudi embassy in London. His incompetent army still reeling in Yemen. His "coalition" decided they had enough and are going home.

Wackos like Bolton back on the job.

Israel bothered that their Greater Israel wet dream isn't coming to pass and Assad is still alive and well after sorting out the headchoppers that Israel (amoungst others) sponsored.

    turkey not London .........

Didn't seem that bothered by chemical weapons deployed against civilians and multiple hospitals and schools bombed in Syria .
Assad has nothing they lose ground most weeks and are heavily reliant on russians to fight for them ,
Still half his population has fled and he nor Russia or Iran has the means to rebuild and repopulate much of obliterated Syria which is now separate states depending on whether you Christian ,Arab ,sunni , Shia, kurd
And Israel is still Israel and still not going anywhere

But hey selective posts nothing new or original

Cold war was a series of proxy wars. Most of these feuds still being alive today, in Yemen/Israel-Arab/Ukraine/Syria/Korea/Balochistan/Xinjiang/North-East India/Naxalite–Maoist insurgency/civil conflict in the Phillipines/Cabinda War/Insurgency of Laos/Conflict in Turkey/Conflict in Peru/Chittagong Hill Tracts conflict/Darfur/

To blame one side more than the other seems unfair. It was a war of ideas, a war of politics, a war of individualism vs group identity. This war is still very much alive today.

I see the greatest threat to global peace coming from the Indian sub-continent.
The discourse I see some places between these guys is the worst I have ever seen. A lot of nuclear powers there too.

I agree. The right and the left have blood on their hands for letting this one go. It's a disgrace.

Iran only enriched to 4 per cent on Sunday. Iran pulled back a bit on its threat to enrich to 20 per cent. So there hoping Europe will fulfil its promises to them. 60 six days fromn now they said they go to 20 per cent?

US, UK and Israel are hell bent on stopping Iran anyhow, so not sure if changes anything?

Houtis have just released a new video of drones and missiles recieved from Iran. There similar, but not identical to Iranian ones, probably done to hide they based on Iranian- Russian designs.

There reports from Yemen, the UAE is about to remove itself from a military engagement. There winding down military operations. Saudi Arabia will fight alone for now with its professional army.
