Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

    Good luck for Daly there

    This is getting really racey now. Shame Grosjean is out. All big hits out of turn 2.

    Absolutely insane amount of commercials on NBC for this years race. I switched to Sky Sports at worse streaming quality which is least worst option

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 38,934 ✭✭✭✭eagle eye

    Dixon now sandwiched between two Arrow McLarens.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 38,934 ✭✭✭✭eagle eye

    3/4's of the race gone, it's been less eventful to this point than any I can remember in a long time. It could all happen yet though.

    Could see stops at the end of this yellow, try to go to the end

  • Site Banned Posts: 12,341 ✭✭✭✭Faugheen

    ooft. That's a big shunt for McLaughlin.

    Americans are weird. McLaughlin crashes and and is still in the car, and all the fans sitting in the section where his car stopped are just waving at him.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,044 ✭✭✭Ohmeha

    That was a nasty crash for McLaughlin, could have been way worse had he collided across that other car

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 38,934 ✭✭✭✭eagle eye

    Scott McLaughlin gone now. Somebody is going to pit here and hope to make it all the way.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,044 ✭✭✭Ohmeha

    Oh dear Scott Dixon

    OMFG, Dixon speeding on pit road.

  • Site Banned Posts: 12,341 ✭✭✭✭Faugheen

    Dixon f*cked it at the last stop. O'Ward v Ericsson v Rosenquist now it looks like.

  • Moderators, Computer Games Moderators Posts: 10,474 Mod ✭✭✭✭Andrew76

    Costly mistake that by Dixon, Jesus.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,044 ✭✭✭Ohmeha

    Good chance of a caution before end of race wouldn't rule out Daly, Rossi, Santino yet

  • Site Banned Posts: 12,341 ✭✭✭✭Faugheen

    Or Sato/Harvey. I forgot they took the risky approach.

    I forgot TK aswell! Still open but Ericsson looking very fast at the right time

  • Site Banned Posts: 12,341 ✭✭✭✭Faugheen

    Where the f*ck did TK come from??

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 38,934 ✭✭✭✭eagle eye

    Looking like Ericsson might save Chip Ganassi's blushes.

    RED FLAG IT

    Jimmie Johnson in the Ganassi camp has other ideas!

    Oooh, caution with 6 to go

  • Posts: 25,611 ✭✭✭✭ [Deleted User]

    Get the red out ffs. :P

    Had a couple of quid on Sato to win in-play for €200, was hoping for a yellow earlier.

  • Registered Users Posts: 8,369 ✭✭✭Rossi IRL

    Nooo bad news for Ericsson

  • Posts: 25,611 ✭✭✭✭ [Deleted User]

    I'd love to see a full green run to the end but **** it. Ya got 300k people in the same place, make some memories! :P

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 38,934 ✭✭✭✭eagle eye

    If Ganassi don't win this it's very sick. First and third right now but not Dixon or Palou. O'Ward, Rosenqvist, Rossi and Pagenaud are all gonna do insane things on the restart.

  • Registered Users Posts: 8,369 ✭✭✭Rossi IRL

    Would love to see Ericsson win it

    So close O'Ward right at the end there. Great fun. :P

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,044 ✭✭✭Ohmeha

    Well done Marcus Ericsson!

    Pato is going to have nightmares over missing that pass

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,903 ✭✭✭Joeface

    Excellent stuff from Ericsson. Really good from start to finish.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 5,684 ✭✭✭Charlie-Bravo

    Amazing last couple of laps from Ericsson. Really didn't feature up front for most of the race. Very unexpected. Well done to him.

    First time I watched the Indy 500, it was actually great fun. Great battle at the end and brilliant defence from Ericsson!

    I wonder did the double championship points available for the 500 was in his mind after losing out on the championship in the final race last season

    That 2nd place finish with double points takes him straight back into contention into 2nd place behind Ericsson now in the championship. Tough one for him but it's not every year you have a major shot to win the Indy 500 on the final lap

    Not a chance. The AMR safety team are always going to be rolling as soon as an accident has started to develop in case they absolutely need to be there (like for instance Hinchcliffe's crash in 2015). In fact, you have to bear in mind Colton's crash from Carb Day, it was literally only 8 seconds from the time the car came to a rest to when the first truck arrived and another four seconds for a member of the safety team to get to him.

    I dunno, to me it's nuts having trucks and lorries and equipment pretty much in the firing line when cars are still doing 200+. If they absolutely have to then fire appliance maybe.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 4,705 ✭✭✭Infoanon

    The AMR safety team know exactly what they are doing as do the drivers who immediately cut their speeds when the yellows appear and don't forget they also have spotters helping them navigate every inch of an oval circuit.

    Great win for Ganassi and Marcus ,listening to Pato he definitely took the safer option.

    Detroit this weekend - expect Penske and Andretti to bounce back.

    ROUND 7 — CHEVROLET DETROIT GRAND PRIX

    From the biggest race of the year to probably one of the most brutal around the roads of Belle Isle Park for the last time, as the race moves to downtown for next year.

    Right now, Sky's scheduling is all over the place like they're still working off of provisional times or something.

    Friday 3rd June

    • 7:25pm — Indy Lights Practice {streaming only}
    • 8:30pm — INDYCAR Practice 1 {probably SSF1, or streaming}

    Saturday 4th June

    • 12:45pm — Indy Lights Qualifying {streaming only}
    • 1:30pm — INDYCAR Practice 2 {probably SSF1, or streaming}
    • 4:20pm — Indy Lights Race 1 {streaming only}
    • 5:35pm — INDYCAR Qualifying {possibly SS Action, or streaming}

    Sunday 5th June

    • 3:15pm — INDYCAR Warmup {streaming only}
    • 5pm — Indy Lights Race 2 {streaming only}
    • 6:45pm — SSF1 INDYCAR Qualifying replay
    • 8pm — Chevrolet Detroit Grand Prix {Sky Sports F1}
      • 8:45pm — Green flag

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,044 ✭✭✭Ohmeha

    Final race in Belle Isle before it moves to downtown Detroit next season, I will miss the double headers in Bell Isle over the past decade alot of entertaining races on that tough handling track

    In 2023 driver news Kirkwood is confirmed for Andretti. Rossi should be announced soon for Arrow McLaren SP which is a badly needed change for him

    Enjoyed that race, the Sky coverage was excellent. So nice not to have the US coverage with ads every 15 seconds. Was happy for Marcus, I think he got a bit of a rough ride in F1.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 38,934 ✭✭✭✭eagle eye

    Great race last night. I was hoping Rossi would do it but credit to Will Power for keeping his tyres in good enough shape to get home, just.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,044 ✭✭✭Ohmeha

    That was one of the best drives of Power's career, a clutch performance from him. Rossi showing flashes again of his 2017-19 form loosened up knowing he's heading off to somewhere better next season and giving himself a chance of title contention if he keeps this rejuvenated form up in the next couple of races

    10 races to go now, like last season it's so competitive at the top and really hard to call who is going to go on and win this title. Its ominous that the top 7 in the standings also finished in the top 7 of this Detroit race, the likes of Herta and McLaughlin may have lost too much ground now unless they can win at Road America or Mid-Ohio

    • 3:45pm — INDYCAR practice 2 {SS Action, or streaming}
    • 6pm — Indy Lights qualifying {streaming only}
    • 6:45pm — INDYCAR qualifying {SSF1, or streaming}
    • 10:20pm — INDYCAR final practice {SSF1, or streaming}

    Sunday 11th June

    • 3:35pm — Indy Lights race {streaming only}

      • 5:45pm — Green flag

    IndyCar qualifying is on over on sky Sports mix instead of F1 channel. Beginning to spit rain.

    Yep, a very last-minute change that was not communicated to us because of the bizarre idea to let the Baku quali repeat overrun rather than chopping it down to the available broadcast window... 🙄
