Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

    People who find the thanks button so awful should:

    - Never thank anyone
    - PM people who thank them to remove their thanks

    But they won't.

    If someone posts something unfunny, so what? Nobody else is paying attention to it, why should you?

    I hated the thanks thing when I joined first but now I can whore myself with the best of them in AH (except Sindri).

    I dislike the thanks feature in the more serious forums, politics and economics for example, because I think it leads to groupthink.

    I think it might dissuade more sensitive people from joining in in AH. I mean, you can get a comment that cuts you down and it gets a load of thanks which kinda magnifies the cut-down and I guess some folk just internalise that kinda thing too much.

    This is just downright disgraceful. I have posted over 1000 times and 97 percent of them have been attempts at being funny . 3 percent were probably just abusive or attempts at derailing a thread. One day I hope to come up with something funny , maybe even world endingly funny . This will make listening to every crappy pun I can come up with worthwhile because monkeys -typewriters - shakespeare .
    Bating people for being unfunny just scares funny people into being quiet for fear of being unfunny . You cant have that OP.
    Im sure you are a very serious and very angry person just from your name and posts. Maybe after hours isnt for you . It is for silly jokes . What your doing is the same as going to the science forum and complaining about all the science.
