Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Clear blue skies. Light easterly breeze. That will do :)

  • Moderators, Science, Health & Environment Moderators Posts: 16,962 Mod ✭✭✭✭Gonzo

the rest of this month is now looking largely dry, there may be a few sprinkles of rain. Plenty of easterly winds over the next few weeks so expect eastern coastal areas to remain fairly chilly. Northern and Southern coasts may be chilly at times too.

I welcome the lack of rain with open arms, we had 7 non stop months of deluges and no doubt the rains will be back here within a few weeks. The rain always comes back and when it does it lasts for months on end!

I know theres a slight risk of people going outside when they shouldn't but can you imagine this lockdown in Autumn - Winter of last year with constant rain and muck. It would have had people going mad.

Pesky cloud coming off the sea. Overall mostly cloudy in D9. Looks gorgeous over 99% of the country on satellite.

Cloudless blue sky and sunshine again in meath, after a cloudy start and 0.4mm of rain yesterday

Beautiful day here in Kerry, cool in the breeze this morning but got up to 16.3C and currently 15.2C and fallen to near calm with just a bit of NE breeze. Rh down to a very pleasant 61%.

Working in a shaded area of the garden and felt very warm, great growth with the leaves bursting out.

glorious sunny blue skies today, however it is really cold and that breeze would cut you in two at times! Despite the cold, the sun is very nice and far more enjoyable than milder and wetter, mucky conditions.

Lovely sunny day in Cork city
Cold breeze at times but it seems to have died off a lot and is lovely now

Crazy just how big the contrast was today with the wind, was painting the house all day and when sheltered from the wind I was in a t-shirt and sweating, by the time I reached the other side of the house I was in a winter fleece and still cold! Stunning day as long as you could escape the wind

Got a bit sunburned today as well for the first time this year

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 6,047 ✭✭✭appledrop

Freezing cold wind today but despite that once you were wrapped up it was a lovely spring day especially this evening with the sun.

One small advantage of having to stay within 2km for walks is that you see little daily changes in nature.

We have beautiful cherry blossoms in our area + over last week we have seen small buds on other trees opening up. Probably helped by heat of last few days.

A stunning summer like day today but it certainly didn’t feel like summer. That was wind was brutal.

    High of only 10.8c

Does feel a lot warmer then that here, garden thermostat is reading 12/313 but could be wrong too! Either way its a pure blue sky here and its great.

Beautiful day here too blue skies and blazing sunshine. 13 degrees but feels very pleasant in it in fairness.

Airport up on the hill ,easterly breeze will keep it cool but id say your spot on with 12/13 in the garden. Lovely to have the clear blue skies!

After the brief return to winter it's become a warm enough afternoon in the sun.
A pity there's one of those annoying cut off lows heading our way.

“ We badly need rain :) Well some anyway - we got nothing yesterday in the SE and as things stand Friday is only a 50/50 by which point it'll be over three weeks without rain worth measuring.”
You will be happy so ?
Assuming it brings rain of course

fantastic day here in Meath, another cold day technically but it felt a lot warmer than 12C.

Fabulous day in west clare yesterday, even better today.

Word of warning - don't fall asleep on a sun lounger, you'll regret it.

Mostly clear over Ireland, early morning fog burning off.

12.9C here near Tralee, looks like we could higher than the high of 16.1C recorded yesterday.

Another lovely day in Cork city. Warm sitting out in my back garden and no clouds to be seen. About 12 degrees in the open part of my garden but this part of my garden is a suntrap

More like late summer/late August, with it being about 9 and a half weeks before the summer equinox when we experience the most intense sunlight.

Just back home to North Kildare from Dublin and it's rather chilly, a lot cooler than yesterday due to a combination of high level cloud and cool breeze that wasn't present yesterday.

With pressure dropping from the south over the next 48 hours looks like some thundery pulses of rain developing in the south and east in particular.

Might get a rumble or two between tomorrow morning and Sunday morning. If anything even more likely in to the early days of next week.

another lovely day but it's a chilly 12C outside, will be lighting the fire again in a few hours as these late evenings/nights have been very cold.
