    Oldcastle (again) for me on Sunday. Is there a separate B race this time?

    Yes that's the plan, depending on numbers of course, the top 3 from the 1st race have signed up to the A race in fairness.

    If combined we will be able to separate out the categories.

    Fair play. Excellent work last round.

  • Registered Users Posts: 528 ✭✭✭calistro

    Cheers!
    Will update the day's race schedule when the pre-reg closes tomorrow. Thought there would have been more interest in the A & Ladies races seeing as nothing else on locally and the chance to get an early look at Champs course.

    Oh, and we've added another bit after the spiral:rolleyes::cool:

    Entered for Orwell's Glencullen there thanks.

    The entry form doesn't like the apostrophe in my surname. Or any surname to be fair I'm sure.

    In other queries do any of ye fine people know how exactly the gridding for the nationals will work this year?
    How does Glencullen's race contribute for instance?

    A % of Provincial gridding?
    A % of nationals?

    The link to the "latest rules" http://www.cyclingireland.ie/documents/tr-r--2011-final-jan-11-v18.aspx returns an error;
    The resource cannot be found.

    Thanks, I'll have a look at correcting this.
    EDIT: Changed, I had the Validation set to "Text Only", which only accepts "letters and spaces", so it's changed to "None" Validation.

    I'm going to send the results to Andy (CI's CX Co) and John (Cycling Leinster's CX Co) and they'll be (Sean Kelly voice) making the calculation.
    Leinster will be using the Bike7 SuperCross scoring of the results that are sent to them.

    I'm on an e-mail thread with Andy, John, Navan, Bray and Swords, where we agreed on 80 points and I'm surprised that the the other clubs didn't include this in their promotion.

    Andy wants to standarise the points in the provinces for the coming years, SuperCross Cup uses 80pts, Ulster uses 40pts and Munster uses 40pts.

    Although we'll see if the Supercross Cup go with 40pts when they release the current standings before round 4.

    Nice racing in oldcastle today. Nice group in the race. Few tweaks to the coarse. Absolutely no let up on it.

    Glad you enjoyed, we're still playing around with the course with a view to the Leinster Champs. Perfect weather and conditions for Cyclocross today after the rain yesterday and sunshine today, the venue owners are giving us great support with the use of the land.

    Only critique of the setup in oldcastle today was the positioning of the pits. Perhaps might be better suited in the area where the boards were

    Yeah, we're planning on a double pit, with the 2nd one placed as you're heading back into the finishing straight. Had to feel for the guy today who punctured and had to run the spiral, only to get a wheel and puncture again on the next lap. But fair play to him for soldiering on.

    Aye some effort to run that distance. Seriously though great couple of races. Looking forward to the next one

    well done lads, it was a great race, not used to the numbers 40 something lads trying to go round the first few bends freaked me out a bit .. we'd do well to have 20 in connacht with As and Bs together.. nice course few spots to build up some speed.. how people were riding up the steep exit of that ditch in the forest is beyond me.. didnt manage it once !

    Hi Luke,

    I see on the entry form it says;
    "Choosing a race sub-category makes you eligible to win that
    sub-category and also the overall (senior) category"

    Possibly better to spread the love and have first unplaced sub-category rider to the get the minor spoils in the case that an M40 wins the overall?

    Any idea if grid for the Russborough House race in the Supercross Cup is based on the top ten from Race 3 or the overall series to date?

  • Registered Users Posts: 1,331 ✭✭✭easygoing39

    Normally it takes into account the earlier rounds.

    Looking forward to it luke. Looks a great set up. Fair play for all hard work. There should be a couple from VCB going. Is the course the same as nationals ( secretly hoping it's a LOT easier than that ;-)) hard to make out on map.
