Looking at an old JD at the minute which when you turn on the ignition the indicator relay kicks in and dash display "(!)" flashes. No indicator lights come on. Start the tractor and they turn off.
Indicator stalk has no effect (again indicator lights don't come on).

Turn on the hazard lights and both sides then illuminate with the dash showing trailer lights illuminated too. Only thing is no trailer is attached and no power detected at the 7-pin plug.

    Any ideas?

It's probably not the indicator relay. Just a relay for that flashing light.

    It could be:
    Hand brake on while driving.
    Water temp too high
    Hydraulic oil temp too high
    Hydraulic filter blocked
    Air filter blocked

It should have another dash board indicator lamp lit..... But it could be blown.

    Tractor is static.
Can't be temp either as the this occurs during all starts inc cold start.
    Not sure about the filters.

When engine is started, both go out. Turn on hazard lights, same relay is activated. Trailer 1 and Trailer 2 lights on dash flash, tractor indicator lights on dash do not illuminate. Tractor indicators (on outside, not dash) now flash, but despite trailer 1/2 indications on dash, not power at the plug. Indicator stalk does not work.

    Bit of a mess.

Where could I get a service manual for it and a user manual?

Sounds like an earth fault. Bulb holders in 10/20 series JD are crap for getting condensation inside the fitting and rotting the aluminium holder. First place I'd be looking. Take out each bulb one at a time and check to see does ithe fault disappear.
Worst case is having to trace a burred or broken wire.

I had thought it was an earth problem, although the previous owner has done some tinkering with spade connectors and there are some unused blocks as well. Looks like a bit of a mess.

Anyone know what the buzzer under the dash is for?

How old a Deere is it?
I should have a wiring diagram (if its an SG2 cab)

Are all the contacts on the fuse card clean/ unburned?

Fuses have been checked and are in good condition.

Check them again with replacement fuses. Take it from someone who lost a week of his life he won't get back because of a (very slightly) corroded fuse:mad:

It fitted in at a very obtuse angle.

The stove is not the greatest though. :D

  • Registered Users Posts: 11,055 ✭✭✭✭Say my name

    Yea it's a 6.

The 6 is a nice counterweight for silage bales

Well wear with the new tractor and loader, hope she goes well for you

    What did she replace?

Also what make is that bale grab and what are your thoughts on it?

    She replaced a 4wd mf 4270, 18 x 6 gearbox with a self levelling Quicke loader.

The bale grab is a Farmhand Shearman.
Thoughts.. I've only tried one bale today so it's a bit early. But it looks very good and it's no weight on that loader.

There's been a few escapes here with bales splitting when going with the knife so it was always on the cards to get one.

I don't think it was built in Austria?
Pretty sure it's a no on the suspension.
She's very stable and comfortable on the road though.
It's a giant leap for me anyway.

I hope she's as easy on the maintenance as the Massey.

Does the grab catch the wrap?

Does the grab catch the wrap?

Yea there's hooks that grab the plastic as the blade comes down.
