ECM says bye bye cold spell!

Well, for Cork it does, but for the Northern half of the country it still shows a potential snow event from later Tuesday like the UKMO.

Showers approaching Dublin now so Dubs might get a few flakes shortly. Some rain and hail Id imagine too. Temperature dropped to 2C now.

The latest ECM has us in similar conditions to today next Friday. Please expand on your comment January. Met Eireann also had temps well below average up to late next week.

Won't you see something later as the temps drop though ?

Not a good sign if its raining in Longford i must say.

I was getting very optimistic looking at the Radar too, its developing quickly and heading for Dublin hopefully.

Temps are game on for Dublin though i would have though 2/-1c..

AH but the question is,will i have any precip when conditions suit?

Maybe will see some rogue showers later as it all passes and colder air digs in behind

Heavier bursts required for just snow id say.

That's if it even makes it here!

I think whats going on for the south is that the system is more enhanced and perhaps ast TBC alluded to is further north, thus pushing the warm sector further north turning conditions less favourable in places.

Although still wondering howd its raining in Longford?

This evening's Valentia sounding shows a very marginals situation for low levels down there, with 500-1000 thickness of 524dm and very slight warming below 800hPa since 12Z. 850hPa ThetaW around 3°C giving a snowline around 200m, lowering the further north you go, to I reckon around 50m near the midlands and east. With this pseudo "warm sector" advecting eastwards this evening I would expect similar conditions to follow it across Cork, Waterford and Wexford.

    Here,

Tuesday it is the Northern half of the country most at risk

An onshore wind could also prevent snow on Eastern coasts but inland potential for significant snow for a time at least.

It will chop and change over the next couple of days.

The whole thing is curving northwards, i'd be hopeful that it will hit Dublin and probably even further north.

I want it to intensity and slow down so the east coast can get the wrap around overnight.

rising here also under total cloud cover.

    1.7c dp -0.4

Wet sleet with a few snow flakes from the showers if they come no doubt.

Next week looks a wash out to be honest below 800ft south of Ulster.

    Those stats are bad really.

The stats are not that bad for BB. Be supprised if he did not see a few flakes.

The precipitation has weakened slightly on the 7pm radar.

Yes, I think anything light is going to be drizzle as suggested by the met reports from stations in the midlands.

Tinners if you don't get snow in Naas then there is no way im getting snow here!
